Wuelita's Kitchen: Bakery and Creamery — Restaurant in Stillwater

My boyfriend and I came here for dessert after eating dinner at Nagoya on Saturday around 7pm. We ordered the red velvet, cookies and cream and the strawberry cupcakes. They were all extremely good, however our experience was tainted by the sheer lack of good customer service we received while in the store. The three ladies working the front counter were rude, impatient and very pushy. They were very unhappy to see us walk in and we immediately became self conscious that we had come at a bad time/ right before close. A quick search showed us that they weren’t closing for another hour. They did not take kindly to us asking questions about the different samplers that they had on the menu and seemed annoyed that my boyfriend didn’t know what a smash-up was after he asked for a cupcake with ice cream. Ultimately they acted as though our presence was an inconvenience as they were talking to the another couple who was also in the store (who they seemed to personally know). We felt as though we were being rushed with our decision making despite being able to see all our options (the other couple they were chatting with was blocking the ice cream window). We ordered a couple of the Chocoholic Cupcakes to try through Doordash today as an add on order to our lunch ordered from elsewhere. While there are not many choices to choose from that way it was a good way to just try something from them. My daughter and I both agree though... Best chocolate cupcake ever! Including the ones I make once in a while, and mine are pretty darn good!.... It was the icing, it was perfectly balanced and rich but light without being too sweet. I usually make a whipped cream cheese icing as I am very picky about chocolate icing and I haven't found one recipe I love enough to actually want to use until now... Recipe please? Lol, jk.... Kinda but not really lol. Coming here and seeing the photos uploaded I already see another one or two I would love to try! Pretty sure I saw a chocolate raspberry one maybe? We will definitely be finding time to come into the shop to see what is available...

I live almost an hour away but have wanted to visit since it opened. I so wanted to like this place. When I finally got to visit the shop it was adorable. When I purchased the cupcakes I was very disappointed. I paid $4.08 per cupcake, almost $16 for 3 cupcakes, water and coffee. The cupcakes looked wonderful but what I got was oil, shortening, sugar and artificial or substandard ingredients. I had to scrape off the icing which was nothing more than a large lump of shortening and sugar. The cupcake underneath was very small and oily. All I could really taste was greasy, sugar icing and bland oily cupcake. The cupcakes were oily, almost tasteless and what little I could taste didn't taste good at all.
