I have been working with Aspen for about two months now, and have been incredibly disappointed. I previously frequented Aspen a lot, and based on my experiences with the service and employees, decided to work with them at the beginning of the semester. I have found out that quality employees are not valued. The employees at drive are great, depending on who you are working with. There are a couple of employees that hold a lot of power due to their friendship with a specific manager. Communication is one of the major things that the managers stress, and yet certain employees (and managers) are very non-communicative with their coworkers when problems arise, and choose to run to the manager any time a minor misunderstanding or miscommunication happens. The managers handle things incredibly unprofessionally... more like "he said - she said" high school drama than a strict conversation about work expectations. The workers do not respect the managers due to miscommunication and lack or respect between them. Some employees badmouth customers while making drinks, and choose to do things quickly and don't care if they mess up an order if they don't know/like you. Friends of employees are often not charged, and you may get charged extra if the person ringing you up doesn't like how you are interacting with them. Good employees are made to pick up slack for the favored employees, who are usually not pulling their weight because they know they can get away with it.
Aspen is made out to be a great, professional business model, and yet there are lots of health and safety violations that is the fault of both employees and managers. The working conditions are often unsanitary, and in my time working there, I was electrocuted and nearly encountered an electrical fire due to unsafe working conditions.
I am not just a former employee spouting things off out of spite, but rather am choosing to inform the public on some of the things that are going on. If you are a customer and feel like something isn't right or that something is going on with your experience, you are more than likely on target. I would absolutely not recommend working for Aspen, especially at the drive-through location. I sincerely hope the managers are able to hire some good new employees that value their job, and that things begin to straighten out for...
Read moreBeen going here for 2 plus years I am known by face and name. I get a medium white chocolate latte with a extra shot and extra flavor. My price has never been over 5 and some change. But TODAY 7/25/2022 I pull up to the drive thru and the so called manager who looks like she literally rolled out of bed an opened the coffee shop and was also very rude says $7.98 ummmm whyyyy??? She says the prices went up but the public pricing menu that’s on the building says $4.00 for a medium latte and extra $.75 cents for a extra shot and $.75 cents for extra flavor. So my math says $4.00 + $.75 + $.75 = $5.50 I do not appreciate being charged so much more when I have supported aspen coffee for two plus years now literally EVERY DAY! Finally after the way I was treated this morning I will NEVER go back. It’s sad because I loved MOST of the employees there. I’m more sad then mad. Also the way the manager hung out the window to scream BYE was very inappropriate like she was being extremely sarcastic. BAD MANAGEMENT Pic of example here… this large coffee from a global chain coffee shop (Starbucks) was $6. And some change. Compared to a medium at aspen...
Read moreI usually really enjoy getting coffee from here, but I have no idea what’s happening the past few times I’ve gotten stuff. Two times in a row I’ve received a sausage roll that still has raw dough around it. The price of the items I get fluctuates every visit, and for some reason they decided to implement an iPad system during an insane wave of sicknesses in the US. It’s insanely unsanitary to hand an iPad to customers in their car and hand it back to the employees. The employees cannot be sanitizing the surface. It’s so gross. I go to drive thrus to minimize any contact I have with people, so this new system has discouraged me greatly from coming again. The iPad, the raw dough, and inconsistent pricing is enough for me to not go again. EDIT: I got a completely raw sausage roll this morning. Insane that you guys would hand off anything raw to customers. I can’t believe I paid $4 for a raw piece of dough and a...
