If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. My experience at this place was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Let’s start with the oysters — which, by the way, SHOULD be the star of the show considering the name of the place. I ordered half a dozen oysters for $22, and they were absolutely underwhelming. They were thin, scrawny, and not plump at all. Completely lacking that fresh, briny, satisfying bite you’d expect from good oysters. For a restaurant that puts “oyster” in its name, this was a complete joke. If oysters are your signature, they should be nothing short of excellent. Here, they were borderline inedible and ridiculously overpriced.
Now let’s talk about the food. I ordered the fried chicken wings and it was so salty it was barely edible. My husband got a burger and it was just…meh. Bland, forgettable, and definitely not worth the price. For the quality we got, we might as well have gone to a fast food chain.
And then there’s the service. Three servers were scrambling around trying to handle both the bar and all the tables. We had to wait 15 minutes just to get our table cleaned — and that’s after being seated. It didn’t get much better from there. We rarely saw our server after ordering, and basic things like refilling water or checking in just didn’t happen.
But here’s the kicker — they automatically add a 20% service charge. For what?! The lack of service? I honestly believe they include it because they know no one would tip after this level of carelessness. It felt like a scam.
If you’re thinking of coming here for a nice oyster experience, do yourself a favor and don’t. The only thing they seem to care about is the bar, so maybe just drop “oyster” from the name and stop misleading people.
Bottom line: overpriced oysters, bad food, poor service, and a forced tip on top of it all. I left feeling ripped off, frustrated, and still hungry. Never...
Read moreI would have given a 5 star review of this place but unfortunately had 2 consecutive days of terrible experiences at the bar with one particular bartender. Regina was rude and unwelcoming, accused me of attempting to use a fake ID to order alcohol, then later claimed she could not read the date of birth, then later changed her story for the third time claiming the ID was “damaged.” After asking to speak to a food and beverage manager I was informed that they didn’t have one, which was evident from the lack of training and quality in service. Front desk manager (Jayson) was shown the same valid Florida drivers license and agreed that there was nothing about the ID that warranted a denial of service. The following day after being guaranteed by the front desk manager that I would not encounter this problem again, Regina once again refused to serve our party, forcing the manager to serve us and apologize on her behalf while she continued to make unprofessional remarks. We have come here multiple times a year for the last 3 years and never had such a ridiculous experience. Every other bartender did an incredible job and interestingly enough, never once asked for ID while serving us approximately 10 times over the course of 3 days. Very unfortunate to see how one employee can ruin what would have otherwise been a...
Read moreThe food is good. However, they recently started putting autogratuity of 20% on every order. Not talking large parties here...Just a single person ordering a single meal. No longer is a tip earned...at salty oyster they just feel entitled to it so they're going to take it from you. Mind you, it's not posted anywhere on their menu nor do they state it at any time during the service. It's only when you get the check they tell you gratuity has already been added. Like they're doing YOU a service or something. I always tip...but I should be able to adjust my tip accordingly based upon the service I receive. How else are you going to differentiate between good and bad service. What other way can you hold a server accountable for their service if not...
