I cannot say enough about our trip with Captain Patrick. From his comedic personality to his professionalism it was an overall great experience. We wanted to get to go out and have the attention on our group of 4 and a private charter is the way to go, you don’t get the attention on the party boats and it’s worth t. Extra money. After an enjoyable ride out to the crystal clear waters he put us right in the fish. We were fishing for yellow tail snapper and my guess is we caught well over 40, that’s with me having to sit out a few hours due to wooziness. We also brought in a few big jacks and 2 nurse sharks which put up a nice little fight and were fun to see up close. The action was non stop and Captain Patrick did a great job keeping us in the water and getting fish off the lines. We also got to watch some jack eat our yellow tail as we were reeling them in, which was turned into a game of who can reel in your fish fastest. We were not going to be able to bring fish back to our home so we caught the perfect amount of keepers for us 4 to have 2 nights of fish tacos and some fish dip while still in the keys. A few recommendations for future guests. Breakfast tacos at the taco truck right around corner from marina. Opens at 6 and has baskets if 3 street tacos. Ask for the Spivey sauce. Hit the bathroom before going out. I have never been sea sick on boats but got that way so take Captain Pats recommendation on taking something, even if you have never been sea sick. Have fun. This is pretty much has been the first time we’ve all deep water fish. Experience with Patrick couldn’t have been any better he was well knowledge very patient with us. We booked a four hour trip with him. We got off with a rough start because of the weather nothing to do with Patrick at all he was very accommodating to the situation. He took us out and was determined for us to catch a fish we spent seven hours out there not catching anything to brag about. But the man that I have got to know why I was out there on the boat was not going to let us go home without having something to brag about. We were planning on going on the private island tour so when we went back out for that he took us out fishing before we went. He won’t make sure we had something to talk about, guess what ? That day we got to caught eight foot lemon shark. Yes Patrick make sure we went home to something to brag about. As the rest of our week went own. We was talking to some of the locals what Patrick has done for us they all said how special that was that he didn’t have to do that he didn’t promise us a fish not even especially not one to brag about but he made it possible for us to do that this will be a trip that my son will never forget about and that’s all it means to me that he put that little happiness a special thoughts and very unforgettable memories this child will never forget. We were so happy with every part of our trip! We were looking for a more personal deep sea fishing experience than a ship with a bunch of other people, but also couldn't afford some of the other charter experiences. From the first call with questions before even leaving home for our trip, to finishing the last bite of our catch, we enjoyed our 6.5 hour trip, our fish, and the memories & TRUE fresh tales! While we were staying in Marathon & planned this as our only day in Key West, it was WELL worth waking up an extra hour early to get there! Captain Patrick was so very patient with me as an inexperienced angler, and my husband as an inexperienced deep sea angler. (MO Rivers have nothing on ocean fishing!) He patiently baited my hook every time, encouraged us while "fighting" with a barracuda & a nurse shark, and when we thought we were finished in one area, encouraged us to throw out one more time! We caught several Yellow tail snapper from the reef, and 2 good sized Mahi-mahi in deeper water, which was MORE than enough for 2 of us for 2 nights, with leftovers! His recommendation for where to take our catch was perfect, and we would recommend booking your time with Patrick ASAP!
