While I only have this new restaurant three Stars 🌟, I feel it is somewhere between three and four stars. The food was good and the service was very friendly. Where I feel it's lacking is in delivery of food and more food options. We had to wait a long time for food to be served to our table. The staff did apologize and they offered a free round of drinks to our table, but nothing we ordered seems to be that complicated.
The food: Two had the grouper special of the day, another had a shrimp 🍤 basket and another had the fish 🎏 basket. All, once delivered to the table, were really good. The shrimp and fish baskets seem to be a better bargain. Both came with ample seafood, more than enough bacon salted fries and a side of coleslaw. All for about $15. The grouper special, while cooked really well, only came with one side choice for about $32.
I contemplated ordering the burger, however, when I saw one delivered to a table nearby, I was glad that I did not order. It had two thick patties. Why? One would be enough! Now I don't think I would ever order one here. Not sure how one would eat this as a burger should be eaten; with your hands.
Drinks: nice drink menu. Nice beer selection!
Service: very friendly staff and it seems like an over abundance of workers. Yet, that did not help with the slow delivery of entree's.
Will I return. Highly likely to give it a second chance to earn four stars...
Read moreI have been planning to go to Matt’s quite some time and finally had dinner with friends tonight. I was very excited but at the end of the night the whole group was very disappointed. We made a reservation during happy hour and I have heard from several friends that their happy hour was great. It is also advertised on the website and on social media. When we sat down our server didn’t mention happy hour as all. Our reservation was for 6:30pm (happy hour is from 6-8pm). I had to ask several times about happy hour menu and was told by our server that happy hour was only offered at the bar (this is not mentioned anywhere and when I made a reservation I specifically mentioned that we were coming for happy hour). The server was willing to make an exception and offer us only two happy hour items (why not all???). The wait for everything was extremely long, one couple at our table ordered several items and was done eating before the rest of the table got their food. The food is delicious but extremely overpriced and half of the items on the menu doesn’t have prices. We even had some discrepancies with the check. We are all locals and love going out to eat but unfortunately all my guests agreed by the end of the evening that they would not be going back. We ask her for our check and wait forever then asking 2 servers / bussers for our check and they say yes we will get quick lol yes we had to go in and get check and be treated as if we did something wrong! We just wanted a good meal after a long day of work. Stephen comes over looking like he wanted to punch me in the face and acted disrespectful saying he was going to call the cops! For what the chef messing up the orders and Stephen not knowing how to run his dining room! There was 8 tables in the whole place!
