We just returned from a weekend stay at The Perry and it was our first time staying there and our first Key West experience staying away from old town/Front Street area. The hotel itself is aesthetically very well done. It feels new and fresh and the industrial chic vibe is very cool. The lobby and hotel grounds are clean and lots of grassy areas if you bring your dog, which is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and everything felt clean and new. The a/c works well and great big shower. Our room did not have any sort of view, which was super disappointing, (the balcony was large but looked at a hedge) particularly since we booked via Amex Platinum Fine Hotel Collection which has almost always provided for at least one category upgrade but bad on me for not paying attention when I booked and not specifically selecting a room with the marina view, which was so pretty. The bath amenities smell nice and the towels are fluffy and robes are soft and delicious. I did not want to take that robe off the whole weekend, they are so wonderful. The location is not really close to anything but they have a nice, air-conditioned, clean and new shuttle which runs on the hour so the location worked out nicely and the shuttle service was great. Super friendly drivers and it was nice chatting with other guests on the 20 min ride. We selected this hotel to get away from the noise and bustle of Front Street/Duval and enjoy a more peaceful, upscale trip to Key West which would have been perfect but for the fact that the walls and doors in the hotel rooms are seemingly paper-thin. On both nights that we were there, the guests in the room beside ours had some sort of party which started at 11pm and went until 3am. They were extremely loud and it sounded like they were actually inside our room, we could hear every word and every time someone moved a chair or table, (which was non-stop) we heard it. We got no sleep. This happened on the first night, Saturday, and we figured no way they would do it again on Sunday but yep, they did. I am shocked that the front desk did not get complaints but if they did, nothing was done. We put on white noise and even had a set of ear plugs that I happened to have in my suitcase but nothing helped. This pretty much ruined the restful weekend that we had wanted and although not directly the fault of the hotel, I think better construction would have helped. We probably should have called the front desk ourselves to see if they could shut the party down but we were exhausted and did not want to risk a potential confrontation with drunk, angry neighbors. I can't say for certain if we would go back, although I would love to because the property and the restaurant was so nice, (get the shrimp and crab omlette and/or chocolate chip pancakes with the cinnamon butter for breakfast! Omg SO good!) but if we did I would definitely insist on a room as far from other guests as possible because you will hear them. Also, if you are a college or NFL fan, be aware the hotel rooms do not get national ABC or Fox. I get that you are supposed to be out of your room when visiting Key West but we wanted to relax and enjoy some of the later games and no dice in the room. We had to go to the restaurant bar to watch the UM game, which was on ABC on Saturday night. Same for the 2nd half of the NFL Sunday Fox game. On a positive note, we were almost forced to order the key lime pie from Matt's bar since we were stuck there to watch the game and it is one of the best I have ever had. It is heavy and thick and not super sweet, better than the famous key lime pie shops all over town. I wish I could order a frozen one to have shipped, it is THAT good! All in all our stay would have been very good if we could have gotten some quiet and been able to sleep. Note that when we made the reservation there was a space for a note to the hotel. I noted that we were celebrating a birthday, (mine) and nothing was done to recognize. Not a big deal but with a Michelin Key designation I had a slightly higher expectation. It's the...
Read moreFirst, I want to acknowledge that the staff at the front desk, all of them, were very helpful and polite. The grounds are very nice and there are plenty of amenities. Some things need to be said though: 1) we were a family of three staying in a king room with a pull out sleeper sofa. Each day when the room was made, the cleaning staff left plenty of towels, but only 1 washcloth. Tracking down 2 more each day was, to be polite, an adventure. The first night I was able to track down one of the cleaning ladies and, she said she would bring them (at least that’s what I think she said - she didn’t speak much English). After a little more than 30 minutes I went in search of again and found her in the utility closet. I again asked her for the washcloths at which point she handed me 2 hand towels. I told her we were fine with hand towels, just needed washcloths. She didn’t seem to understand so I pointed them out on the rack. She said nothing, so I just grabbed them and went back to shower. The second day - same thing. One washcloth. We told the folks at the front desk and they tracked some down for us. Third night - same. So Gary from the front desk immediately called housekeeping. So we waited… finally, I walked down the hall to find a guy playing on his phone in the storage closet. I asked him for washcloths, and he repeated my room number (so we knew he got the message) and I was handed 1 washcloth. I told him I needed 2, and he said (in very poor English) that there was only one clean washcloth. Went down to see Gary again, and within 5 minutes he delivered them personally to our room. Thanks, Gary! Enough about that. 2) on day two, my wife and I were sitting on the balcony and watched about 8 unruly kids (aged from about 2 to maybe 15) in the pool. Okay, kids will be kids being loud and having fun. What we did observe, and were shocked to see, that they had a bottle of Crown Royal hidden under a blanket and would sneak back to have a few shots every 15-20 minutes. No parents anywhere in sight. 3) this may be the kicker. On the final day, before checking out, we went down to the restaurant for breakfast. Unbelievably, my wife found a maggot, yes, a maggot in her creamer. Pretty damn disgusting. The manager checked everything and said there were no other signs of maggots anywhere else. Asked her if he could get her anything and she asked for a mimosa. Though all 3 of us were a bit upset, we did eat our breakfast when it came out (we needed to leave within the hour and didn’t have any other options). When the bill came, they comped my wife’s breakfast, but I was surprised to see a $13 charge for the mimosa. Asked to have that taken off, which they did. Upon checking out my wife mentioned it to the front desk employee (wish I had gotten her name) and she too agreed that our whole breakfast should have been taken care of. She was nice enough to refund our parking fee ($25/day) for all three nights that we were there. 4) forgot to mention the water pressure. There was none. I had really high hopes for this place, but it turned out to be a pretty...

During my recent stay at The Perry Hotel in Key West, I had an overall enjoyable experience, though I must mention that the fluctuating shower pressure was a minor inconvenience. Despite this issue, the hotel's stunning location, modern design, and exceptional service made it a memorable stay.
Situated on the waterfront, The Perry Hotel boasts breathtaking views of the marina and the surrounding Key West landscape. The hotel's contemporary aesthetic, with its sleek lines and stylish decor, created a sophisticated and inviting ambiance.
The customer service at The Perry Hotel was outstanding from the moment I arrived. The staff members were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful, ensuring that my needs were met throughout my stay. Their professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond greatly enhanced the overall experience.
The room I stayed in was well-appointed, featuring modern furnishings and a comfortable bed that provided a restful night's sleep. The clean and spacious bathroom added to the overall comfort of the accommodations.
One minor issue that I encountered during my stay was the inconsistent shower pressure. At times, the pressure would fluctuate, making it challenging to maintain a consistent water flow. While it didn't significantly detract from my overall experience, it was a slight inconvenience that could be improved.
The amenities at The Perry Hotel were impressive. The pool area was a relaxing oasis, offering a serene atmosphere and comfortable loungers to soak up the sun. The on-site restaurant provided delicious dining options with a focus on fresh seafood and local ingredients, satisfying both the palate and the senses.
The hotel's location also deserves special mention. It was conveniently located near popular Key West attractions, allowing for easy exploration of the area. The hotel offered complimentary shuttle service to downtown Key West, making it convenient for guests to experience the vibrant energy and unique charm of the city.
In conclusion, The Perry Hotel in Key West offers a memorable stay with its stunning waterfront location, modern design, and exceptional service. While the fluctuating shower pressure was a minor drawback, it did not overshadow the overall positive experience. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stylish and comfortable retreat in Key West, and I would gladly return for another stay...
