The Pool Man of Key West is the best company to work with when it comes to maintaining your pool year round. Their team not only makes sure your pool is clean but they they also balance the pool's chemistry to make being in the water enjoyable. Ben Bortner makes sure that his customers are satisfied.
We recently ran into a problem with our fiberglass pool that was 20 years old. Another vendor had talked us into having the pool painted with Ramuc Pool Paint ... it was nothing short of a disaster as the paint began to dissolve into the water. Our family was afraid to go into the murky water.
In an effort to help us out, Ben Bortner, the owner of the Pool Man of Key West, suggested an entirely new process of treating pools using the Eco-finish Polyfibro, a polymeric coating that truly bonds to the pool. We had put up with paint dissolving in our pool for the past year ... in ONE DAY they completely resurfaced our pool ... we were filling the pool before sunset! ... what had been disaster ... became a story of a "New Pool in a Day" along with a 10-year guarantee.
The Eco-finish is an incredible process and we first have to thank Ben Bortner for taking the time to help us out with our dilemma. The Pool Man of Key West takes care of their customers, because they care first ... they don't just...
Read moreHorrible customer service. They serviced my pool about one hour before I got home. I get the usual email that the service was completed and a picture of the pool. When I arrived home the pool pump was not running and after inspection, the pump had seized. It was obvious the tech did not make sure the pump was working correctly before he left. Mistakes happen and I get that but the way the owner handled it was very arrogant. I called them immediately, and no-one would take reasonability and of course said the pump was old and needed to be replaced. The first quote to replace the pump was $2267 and it included one hour of labor to tell me that the "motor not working" and was $139. Second quote was $560 to replace and also charged me that extra $139. After speaking to the owner a second time asking/negotiating that they should be paying for this pump, he called me an a$$*e along with a few more words and then hung up the phone. Long story short, I switched over to KW Pool & Spa and he charged me $400 to repair my original pump. He was out the next day to repair it, and its been working perfectly ever since. Great service! Hope this helps when deciding which pool...
Read moreThe worst experience yet with a pool service. Our previous pool guy moved on to landscaping so we were sold on this company. No one showed up for 3 weeks after payment. They kept saying I did not pay even after showing screenshots of my $199 payment on bank statements. During this time the pool developed black algae. They finally started coming out, but did not do anything for the algae (not even a metal brushing) The tech told me it was too much work and that we needed to drain the pool. I spent two hrs in the pool brushing the algae off and started treating the black algae with algaecide myself. When I try contacting anyone, to let them know I did the work and we need to just keep treating, I got crickets.
During all this, their billing department over billed my credit card by $398. I had to call their corporate headquarters in Tampa to get anyone to respond. They refunded me $298. It has now been two months of ignored phone calls and emails to try to get the remaining $100 refunded. These people are lazy scam...
