I’ve been going to this location for over 4 years and lately noticed the wings were extra small. Every Friday my family would order wings every single Friday night and once they read this review I’m sure they will be aware of who this is! They know me by name the front staff is very nice and pleasant to talk to! Just so happens the past few Fridays from December going into January the wings were very small. My husband is not into spending his money at a place where they are charging $13.99 for the meal and the wings aren’t adding up to a 10 piece. I called the location to see if the wings were a nice size or small before placing my usual order, the lady who takes the orders stated they were a nice size, ok let me get my usual. I go to pick the order up and all the wings are small extra small. To insult to it they added 1 extra wing to one order when I had placed an order of 4 meals total! I was not accepting the order specially when I called to make sure before hand! I requested a refund in which that was given! Here is where they went wrong the owner and the manager decided that I was no longer able to place orders since I requested a refund! It should be where I as the customer requesting a service should be provided not get mad with me for not accepting a order after I was informed of the wings being a nice size! That would’ve saved them from thinking I was going to accept the order and would’ve saved me from wasting my time and gas! The owner has no respect for African Americans which is where this location is planted in! At least provide the customer with extra wings to make up for the baby wings they are serving and I wish more customers would realize that at this location! They take the African Americans for granted! I will be filing a complaint...
Read moreWe’ve been coming to American Deli about once a month for a long time now, and when it comes to the food and service, this place is consistently excellent. The flavors are spot on, and the cooks clearly take pride in making every meal taste great. The regular staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient.
However, there’s one thing that makes the overall experience less enjoyable, and unfortunately, it has nothing to do with the food or the regular employees—it’s the owners. On multiple visits, we’ve noticed the owners standing around making exaggerated, unpleasant, almost mocking facial expressions, not just towards their workers, but toward paying customers as well. This isn’t a one-time observation; it’s something we’ve seen repeatedly over different visits.
It’s genuinely uncomfortable to feel like you’re being silently judged or ridiculed while you’re simply trying to enjoy a meal. It also creates an awkward atmosphere for the staff, who otherwise seem to work hard and maintain a friendly demeanor despite it. The quality of the food and the effort of the cooks and servers is five-star worthy, but the attitude displayed by the owners significantly takes away from what could be an entirely positive dining experience.
If the ownership treated both staff and customers with the same respect and warmth the rest of the team does, this would easily be one of the best...
Read moreCHRISTINA, and SERGIO are the most unprofessional employees I’ve met. After being served BLOODY chicken, Christina informed me that I could have my meal replaced - my name was posted on the board. Considering the circumstances, Christina reassured me that I would not have to return the food, thus I threw it away. Today, after attempting to receive my replacement, I was told by Christina that they wouldn’t be replacing my meal. For 30 minutes, these individuals ignored me as I waited to receive my replacement - they finally had the older Africa American woman tell me to come back Friday (ON CHRISTMAS), to speak to the owner, who they “can’t” release their name. It’s evident they wanted me to leave, however, why is this acceptable? I now understand why individuals consistently have issues with American Deli. American Deli is the prime example of a “CULTURE VULTURE” - they conduct business in African American communities, but, they consistently treat blacks as if we’re undeserving of good communication, and good...
