The food is excellent. Prices are reasonable. The only thing I can't seem to get is service. This is my fourth time here. The first time I was the ONLY customer seated to eat and still it took forever for someone to come take my order. Everyone was gathered around talking to each other. I brushed it off as this being a new establishment. Second time I came with my cousin for brunch. I sat at the same place I sat last time barstool by the window, we waited and waited my cousin said there's hardly anyone here are they gonna take our order? We went to the register and asked if someone could serve us. Today I sat for fifteen minutes. I timed it. I went to the guy at the register Frank, and asked if someone could serve me as the waitress had skipped over me several times and served at least 2 tables that came in after me. The cashier came from behind the counter and took my order. The waitress that skipped me brought my food out and walked away. My order isn't even correct or complete but she is nowhere to be found 😫. I did realize that I had called my order by the wrong name, I said I wanted the early bird special when I should have said hwy 138 special but I verbally said that I wanted bacon, 2 scrambled eggs, grits instead of home fries, white toast with strawberry jelly and French toast. I was missing some food, I only had grits eggs and toast. I ate and waited to see if she might come back to check on me. Wishful thinking, halfway through my meal I went back up to Frank and told him what I was missing. He checked with the kitchen and brought our my order. I was still missing French toast but by the time it came out I was already done with my meal. I had stacked the plates and was drinking my lemonade when I heard the waitress come drop the plate on the table and then grabbed my empty plates which had my silverware on it. I tried to stop her to ask for my fork back but she was gone too fast. I didn't have a fork or even syrup so I just left it there and went to pay. Frank was nice enough to remove the french toast from my bill without me even...
Read morePlease read my review ALL the way before you waste your money with ANGIE CAFE !!!!! This is an HONEST REVIEW and up to date review! I will try to keep this short! This is is a Dominican family owned restaurant. They just opened a few months ago, and decided to try the first time. The aesthetic inside was cute, it was clean, but customer service was horrible. The owner ( Angelina or Angie) has a very “nice-nasty” attitude. More so NASTY. She tells you you can sit anywhere and has a very unpleasant and unwelcome nonchalant attitude. She acts like one of those young girls at fast food restaurants or servers that doesn’t want to be there. I’m a business owner myself, and one down fall Angie has already as a new restaurant in the Stockbridge neighborhood is she doesn’t market to her customers that are first timers. So I order food and I ask suggestion and she gives a dry answer ( oh I like French toast ) and I just say ok. Now, the food was decent. Not going to lie. A worker from the back brought the food. Not once did she come back to check on me ask if I need anything , she is just walking past with her AirPods in running her mouth. So I had to flag her down, and I was like I’m ready! I can’t curse on this review but This useless sorry behind owner is going to tell me “ you can come up here and pay “ . UMMM EXCUSE ME??? Lady IM DINING IN YOUR RESTAURANT!!!!! she didn’t feel like bringing my tab so I paid at the register by the door! What kind of lazy behind shhhhh is that ? She said she is from Jersey but this is Atlanta and you’re in a predominantly black suburban neighborhood where things could get dangerous operating a BRUNCH establishment with that kind of attitude??? She clearly hasn’t been in Atlanta that long! Yeah they gonna get her up outta here by next year ! This place won’t be up for long ! She is terrible! You are better off going ti waffle honey.please don’t waste your time with this establishment and...
Read moreRating-4.2 Ate twice here. Looks nice for a plaza. Good choice of materials inside. Seat yourself. Short server staffing typically. The Cook came out to apologize that some people called out. Clean restrooms, nice TVs, good bar, plenty seating.
Food- The Tostonadas I saw on the Google pictures where meat inside of a cupped tostone. They were served to me separately in which I like better because there was more food for the $13.50 price. The skirt steak had good seasoning, but was a bad choice of meat selection-chewy and many parts were inedible. The burger with egg and avocado was decent, but I took off the cheese, which I’m sure made it more regular. I didn’t eat the bottom bun as the burger was good without it. The Mofongo had a cream sauce on it that I didn’t like or didn’t see on the menu as a dairy item or I would have put it on the side. The Mofongo is plain and needs more seasoning or a more seasoned savory sauce on top of the mofongo instead of the white creamy sauce. Yucca fries delicious. Plantains overcooked. Tostones need more salt. Goat was a great choice to see on the menu along with beef stew, oxtails, and other fun food. the goat taste like it was seasoned with oxtail seasoning. Cabbage taste fermented, or vinegar. the steak on the side of the Mofongo seem to taste better than the Tosonadas with steak. a few basic salads they had with not many green leafy vegetables, but I feel that someone could find something on their menu they like and be satisfied.
The breakfast was really great. The grits looked stiff, but they were good. Grits should come with some of the plated options but they keep it separate so you can add on an additional side. Pancakes were a bit thick but fine. Love their quality hard back printed...
