Y'all, it's just so good. I finally stopped by for lunch after a gal at work brought in a dozen Bigworm's Donuts and mentioned they had burgers. I got the Worminator, and I have to say, that is how you make a signature burger! The meat, the bacon, the cheese, and the house sauce all come together really hit the spot in way a high-quality and tasty burger should. And the fries are top 3 in Stockton! And they might even be #1... The fries are cooked a little darker, giving them a deeper flavor and a crispier outside while still having that hearty, fluffy, potato-y inside. Eating them for the first time made me want to officially figure out my Stockton fry ranking. Additionally, I also had a yeast donut with chocolate icing, and it really shows how much care Bigworm's puts into their bakery. The savory flavor of the donut is pronounced and I love that. It doesn't get lost in the sweetness of the icing. The yeasty flavor contrasts and balances with the chocolate, and it's so good compared to a normal sugar bomb donut. I just can't find a shop around here that's on par with Bigworm's level of flavor development. It's really delicious! And I haven't even mentioned that the texture is amazing, too. Read moreEverything I love about a local business. First- An excited, friendly staff. The owners are young guys, they hustle, they're happy to be chasing their dream. The food is good. The value (ie-portions) is great. They recommended the Usorito for breakfast- "Big Eats for Bigs" is what the owner called it. He was right. Big taste, big portion. I was so impressed by these guys' attitude, I ordered a Big Queso (quesadilla) to go. While I was waiting, the owner asked what my favorite donut was- Apple Fritter, which I then can easily say was the BEST Apple Fritter I EVER had. It's not some machine shop that packs in sugar to unreasonable amounts into dough(looking at you kk), these are are homemade dough rings of love made pretty much to perfection. This place makes ube donuts, which is novel and actually quite incredible. I would have never thought ube would be a medium for donut and kind of don't want to go back to just dough. Pioneers by definition. And that's just donuts. I can continue for a whole food critique but I'll slow down. Last I want to say is it's not just donuts.
