We stopped into Huckleberry’s on Trinity in Stockton on a Saturday morning around 8 a.m. and immediately felt like we’d made the right choice for breakfast. It wasn’t too busy yet, and we were warmly greeted by Ari, our hostess extraordinaire. Ari didn’t just lead us to our booth — she fearlessly navigated the bustling floor like a breakfast superhero, ensuring our safety and comfort until our server arrived. Enter Carmen, our server, who brought menus and drinks faster than you can say “beignets.” Speaking of which — yes, we ordered the beignets, and yes, they were that good. My nephew especially loved the huckleberry sauce; I’m pretty sure he would have taken a bottle home if it was an option. For the main event, I had eggs, fruit, and sausage with a side of biscuits and gravy — generous portions, great flavor, and everything cooked just right. My nephew had hot chocolate, pancakes, and bacon. The hot chocolate, he said, reminded him of his last trip to the Swiss Alps (his words, not mine). The pancakes were so perfectly round it felt like they’d been drawn with a compass, and he couldn’t stop talking about how good they were. Both Ari and Carmen kept checking in on us, making sure we were happy at this Louisiana-inspired spot. Their service was attentive without being pushy, friendly without being fake — exactly what you hope for at breakfast time. Bottom line: Huckleberry’s is a great spot for breakfast or lunch with a strong menu, hearty portions, and staff who truly go above and beyond. Ari and Carmen deserve a standing ovation (or at least a round of applause from everyone in the dining room). We’ll definitely be back!

Went the other day to try Huckleberry’s for breakfast and I must say they really know how to give u options for breakfast and lunch or early dinner omg. The staff is very courteous and helpful. From the start we had some amazing Huckleberry tea and strawberry lemonade with sugar rimmed mason jars with beignets as a appetizer and they came with 3 wonderful flavors to choose from. Light flakey and powdered perfectly with sugar. I ordered pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon and we also tried the Shrimp Po boy sandwich with chili cheese fries. Loved the garlic bread and crispy perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimp topped with lettuce and sauce. The chili was thick warm and delicious over crispy fries. They have a lot of Cajun style dishes to choose from and it all looks great. I can’t wait to go back and try more things off the menu.

Service and servers could be better. The hosts in the front were not coordinated or organized. I was called on accident when my table was not ready. The servers do not re-visit the table after they give you your food/drinks. Had to wait 35 minutes for a refill on my coffee/soda. Also my server went on lunch and said another server would be taking care of my table in a meantime. Except this server did not blink an eye or stopped by. We had to call her for a refill of our drinks and to-go boxes. Even when we called her over she seemed confused and uninterested. She was more concerned about her own tables than taking care of us. Food was excellent but I would prefer good service over the food any day.

My wife, 2 children and I went to Huckleberry’s Friday September 29, 2023. We ordered French Toast, a catfish po boy sandwich, chicken strips, flapjacks, and fried green tomatoes. We were slightly greeted at the door, and were promptly taken to out seats. We waited 10 minutes until our server came. She didn’t introduce herself by name as usual in the food service industry. She only asked if we were ready to order our meal and drinks. No smile, all business. We received almost all of our food 15 minutes later. My wife’s fries were cold, the catfish under seasoned, and tasted rancid. My son’s chicken strips were tough and fried in old oil that left a film on my tongue. His fries were also cold. The flapjacks and French toast were mid. I asked about the fried green tomatoes my wife ordered. Our waitress asked if we still wanted them, to which my wife replied yes. 10 minutes later we received the fried tomatoes. They were also under seasoned. The outside was burnt, while the batter in the middle was still raw. My wife instructed all of us to stop eating with the fear that we’d all get sick. We got up to pay for what we did consume ($70), and was asked how the food was. My wife replied that the food was severely under seasoned, cold, and raw. To make matters worse, we were blocked in by a Sysco truck for 30 minutes. I would not recommend coming to this establishment at all. If you’re looking for great food, and great customer service,...

Not a great experience at all. Had a cup of coffee. Not hot but warm and tasted like it was thinned out. The silverware looked like the were hammered out by a prison. Order the Nawlins Breakfast. Asked for scrambled eggs with onion and cheese. Neither were scrambled with the eggs. Just clumped on top. Pancakes were bland in taste and couldn't cut them with the fork. But the syrup was very good in flavor. Had red potatoes and they were as hard as plastic and a small portion. Like they had been sitting in a hot burner forever. The bacon was just as bad with a similar taste. By accident they gave me two link sausages that were very good. When I did get my milk it was not cold but warm and had to ask for ice to give it some chill. Now my wife had Fish & Chips which she said the batter on the catfish was just right along with the fries. Because those fries were cooked just right I had some of them. Her Carmel macchiato was delicious but could've been a little warmer. Climate was too cold as i had to go to the car as my wife needed her jacket. I write all of this because I spent $67 for this meal. And didn't enjoy it. It was our first time and it will be our last...
