This was a weird one. We were told that this place was impossible to get into during the summer, so being that it was winter, we had to try. It was underwhelming. I understand you’re a BYOB but the glassware was not great (think stemless wine/water glasses. Also, this is in a nice beach town). The restaurant was packed but even then the service was glacially slow (especially to get our food). As a part of our entrees you have the option of a house or Caesar salad for an up charge. The house salad was, I kid you not, lettuce. Just lettuce. No tomatoes, or onion, anything. The Caesar wasn’t much better. Romaine lettuce with 3 croutons. No cheese shaved on top. Nada. And that was an upcharge of $5. The entrees were exactly as expected- nothing extra, just a solid Italian dishes. Chicken parmigiana was two substantial pieces of chicken. The Chicken Riviera was good but only three shrimp on the dish. The veal champagne was covered in sauce and flavorful. The ricotta cheese gnocchi in meat sauce was a massive portion, but note - this is NOT a meat sauce. In any sense of the word. This was a fine meal and extra points for being a BYOB but definitely not worth the hype.

This is hands down the best Italian food I’ve had in New Jersey! The food was absolutely amazing, and I really appreciated that they had dietary options like gluten-free pasta available. I ordered the Penne all’Amatriciana, it was full of flavor. I also highly recommend starting with the Brussels sprouts appetizer, it was crispy and delicious! The staff was nice and welcoming. The only downside was that it was pretty hot inside the restaurant, but overall it was a great meal and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Always a wonderful time. Always go with the specials. Veal parm or the “on the bone” are crowd pleasers. Rigatoni pomodoro was so unique and the whole table made sure to savor every bite! The Brussel sprouts are without a doubt the best thing to add to any meal choice. See you soon! Lauri is the best of the best

Exceptional Dining Experience!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ristorante Luciano (BYOB) and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like family coming for a Sunday dinner with warm smiles and impeccable service. Joe, Scott, Alli (spelling) went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and attended to every detail with such care. Scott and Alli were attentive without being intrusive. Scott’s knowledge of the menu and our wine pairing were spot on. The staff genuinely cared about making our dining experience perfect.

The ambiance is cozy yet elegant, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The lighting, decor, and soft background music all added to the inviting atmosphere.

Now, let’s talk about the food. It was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. You can tell the kitchen puts a lot of thought and creativity into their menu. The freshness of the ingredients and just the right balance of the spices made for a memorable experience. Each bite was a delight, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming.

We started with the prosciutto and melon appetizer which was a lovely balance between salt and sweetness. For our entrees, I had Chicken Champagne and my partner had Veal Principessa. It was amazing! For dessert, we shared the homemade ricotta cheesecake. Oh my goodness, what an experience! It was light with the perfect balance of orange and lemon. What a perfect ending to a delicious food journey.

Whether you’re a fan of classic dishes or looking to try something new, there’s something on the menu to tantalize your taste buds.

Ristorante Luciano exceeded all our expectations. This is clearly an Italian BYOB restaurant that values its customers and takes pride in every aspect of the dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Ristorante Luciano to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience in a welcoming setting.

It was a fairly nice place but I didn't see anything that stood out as far as decor. I know they remodeled after a flood and the exposed brick and all the wood is very nice. My main complaint would be how loud it is when crowded. We had a difficult time understanding one another at our table. It was even hard to hear the server. The appetizer of calamari was good. And the brussel sprouts were amazing. The main course was good, but someone said their eggplant parm, while a large portion, did not come with a small pasta side as this dish usually does, but they also said it wasn't very flavorful. This is from a vegetarian that eats eggplant often. It was just ok. My dish was the chicken picatta. This was flavorful but I'm used to this dish having capers and there were none (unless they were chopped finely.) Didn't matter because the chicken was tender and the sauce was full of flavor. The portion was small for me, as the 2 chicken breasts were pounded fairly thin and still very small. But it is probably a recommended portion to be fair. It came with a choice of garden salad which is literally just greens that they dress but was still good, or Cesar salad which I was told was very garlicky, the last option was a side of pasta I believe. Desserts we had were limoncello, German chocolate cake, and creme brulee cake. All three were very good. I believe they are mostly booked for the season so good luck getting in without a reservation. But there are other fantastic places in Stone Harbor to eat, including some right nearby. Overall we liked it here, some of us more than others. The prices were only slightly higher than what we thought was fair, but that's pretty much most of the places on this 7 mile island and is to be expected. But the pricess...

This place has very good food. The space is small but very cozy - and while the tables aren't too close together there are a couple of tables in the middle and by the door that I wouldn't want to sit at. The shrimp scampi was very good (I asked for extra garlic and they obliged) and honestly the fettuccine Alfredo my friend ordered was the best I've ever tasted. The bruschetta is excellent with just enough olive oil and plenty of garlic - the bread is also very good and nicely toasted. The fried calamari was tender and plentiful but it was pretty bland. We salted it a bit and put lemon on it and it was excellent. The portions are nice sized here too. Our service was friendly but slow and the food took quite awhile to come out (and our server wasnt great about checking in with us to let us know the status to the point i wondered if he forgot to put our orders in until we inquired about the status) - but honestly we didn't mind too much because the food was so good - and we had plenty of wine to drink (it's BYOB). They also bring a bread basket and olive oil when you sit down - so overall you're not going to go hungry here. We were too full for dessert so I can't comment on those. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I'd love to see a bit more items on the menu (ie, no lasagna and a few more other items to choose from would be nice) and the service was a bit off - but these things will not stop me at all from coming back. It gets very crowded in season and weekends so you'll definitely want a...
