Attention Vegans/Lactose Intolerants: I got a "build your own" 12" vegan pizza. The overall flavor was good, but the vegan cheese wasn't what I was expecting. It wasn't bad persay, and with the fresh basil I added it gave it a Margherita-style vibe. But it wasn't melty at all and instead of shreds it looked like ripped up slices placed on top of all the other toppings as an afterthought. Never had vegan cheese quite like this, so I'm wondering if they make it in-house? As a lifelong vegan I know that some vegan cheeses don't melt too well, but these days there are lots of great melty options I've had at other local spots. And I'm confused about why slices and not shreds?? Once I got over it not being the melty, gooey pizza experience I was craving it really wasn't bad, it reminded me of fresh mozzarella kind of. The broccoli sicilia topping was delicious, but for $2 extra it barely had any on there. I also added roasted garlic and red onion which gave it a great flavor and helped matters. I got delivery, so maybe that had to do with it? Not sure if it's supposed to be like this or they were just lazy with adding the toppings and melting the cheese...would try again but maybe order over the phone or go in person instead of Doordash so I can ask some...
