Unbelievably rude and offensive. I have ordered from Luca's a dozen times, last night was the first time I have had BAD FOOD. The pizza was stale when we took a bite, and the garlic knots were hard. Just poor quality, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what stale pizza tastes like. So I called back and informed the staff that we were displeased with the food we purchased. I heard the owner yell "what! She's out of her damn mind. That pizza was perfect." And he carried on about how perfect the food was and how stupid I am for not know what fresh pizza is. Once the other person put the phone back to his ear he and asked "do you want to refund or do you want us to remake it?" I asked for it to be remade and we told it would be ready in 20 minutes and I needed to return the first order. So I went straight back and was there in 14 minutes.
Upon my arrival the owner confronted me at the pickup window saying "there is nothing wrong with this pizza, you are crazy" I told him exactly why we were bringing it back and his response was "this isn't stale, I hand made all of this dough this morning. It can't be stale, you are out of your mind" I told him I'm not doubting the dough was made today, but the finished pizza is not the same quality as our past orders. He asked me again what I wanted to do and I told him that I brought this back to exchange for fresh food. I was the. Informed that he sold all 15 orders of garlic knots he made this morning and was very annoyed that I had asked for a fresh pizza. I tried to have a civil conversation with him as to the reason why we were dissatisfied with the pizza, but he kept interrupting me, insulting me and slamming things around.
The end result, I was literally thrown a refund for the food they "couldn't" remake. I have never been so offended then when some schmuck working at a pizza parlor throws singles at me as if I, his paying customer, am not beneath him. I was served an now UNDERCOOKED replacement pizza and told to "never come back here again"
I have worked in customer service for 15 years in multiple industries - this is ALL WRONG. Even if your opinion of your consumer is that they are "crazy" and you don't value their opinion of your product, they are still right. You smile, apologize for upsetting them, and correct the situation so they continue to support you and your company. You don't insult them to their face, throw money at them and tell them to never come back because they are displeased with your product.
I will go buy my overpriced greasy pizza from somewhere that can treat their customers with respect. This was one of the worst dining experiences I...

As someone who grew up on the East Coast (NJ/NY), Iāve spent years searching for that unmistakable, foldable, soul-satisfying slice of real New York pizza. Most places miss the mark. Lucaās nails it.
From the very first bite, it was like being transported back to the corner pizza shops of my childhood, crispy-yet-chewy crust, sauce with the perfect tang, and cheese that stretches like a warm memory. This is the pizza I grew up on. This is the pizza Iāve been craving for years.
And donāt even get me started on the garlic knots. Theyāre pillowy, golden, and drenched in garlicky goodness, basically little edible miracles! If they opened a shop that only sold these, Iād still show up with bells on.
What makes Lucaās even more meaningful to me is being able to share it with my family. My wife has celiac disease and canāt eat it herself, but she insists we go because she knows the joy it brings me and our kids. Watching them light up with every bite, just like I used to, is something I never thought Iād get to experience. Lucaās isnāt just a meal, itās a connection to where Iām from and who Iāve become.
The atmosphere? Clean, welcoming, and exactly what it should be, a place where the food does the talking. From the moment you walk in, you get the sense that this place cares. About quality. About tradition. About getting it right.
To the owners and staff at Lucaās: thank you. For your consistency. For your craftsmanship. For giving this Jersey-born dad a chance to relive his roots and pass them on to his family. Youāve created something truly special, and it deserves to be celebrated.
And to anyone reading this...GO! Order the pizza. Grab the knots. Savor the experience. Because Lucaās isnāt just the best pizza Iāve found since leaving the East Coast, itās one of the best parts of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLuca's came highly recommended on a local FB group, so I was surprised by how over-sold it ended up being...very, very disappointed. We placed our simple takeout order for a large 1-topping pizza and an order of wings. We were told 20 minutes and it took 45 minutes, a big difference! They were steady, but not that busy.
This is what I believe happened: About 10-15 minutes in, another customer came for his order but apparently they messed up by giving him only 12 wings and not the 24 he ordered. Within a few minutes, a dozen of wings magically appeared. Why am I noting this...I believe they gave our wings to this customer because after 30 minutes, our order still was not done. We were told they're just, "waiting on the wings". It was then so obvious to us what transpired with our order.
After all that, the pizza was only slightly warm, obviously it had been sitting. Additionally, it had way too little cheese and the added topping. At almost $4 per topping, the skimpy quantity was just not right. The crust had a good flavor, it just suffered from sitting too long. Now onto the wings, the flavor was good, the size was good, the meat was moist, but barely cooked. There was absolutely no crunchiness to be had at all. And, the wing order does not come with celery and Blue Cheese or Ranch dressings.
I think we would have been willing to give Luca's a second chance if it had not been for the wing thing, which I believe was not accidental. My husband feels the over-priced pizza was mediocre at best, especially with the skimping on the cheese and topping. We will continue going out of our way to get pretty good pizza from Belleria...
