I accidentally spent about 45mins at Piklys on their opening day, but I’m glad I did: I was able to witness the genuine and kind interactions between the head staff and their customers and employees. I was able to meet one of the owners, Mrs. Yveline, her son Chris, and her niece(?) working behind the counter. They are very attentive and have great attitudes. Being unfamiliar with the cuisine, I mistakenly ordered a product with meat in it (I thought the sausage was a tomato, pictured), but I’m glad that they seem to offer a lot of variations beyond what’s on the menu! That said, try to be very specific about what you would like and make sure to advise of any allergy or dietary restrictions. They were prompt and gentle remedying this mistake!
At one point I was able to overhear Mrs. Yveline’s niece encouraging the kitchen, telling them that they: “…did a great job (during the chaotic but successful grand opening), seriously.” The passion and excitement is clear at Piklys, not just for putting out quality dishes, but for offering customers a quality experience. Piklys restaurant carry the name, it’s a zing to your visual. When you walk into a restaurant like that you feel welcomed and the passion of serving you.
