My Gyro Turkish Cuisine is absolutely amazing! It's a real gem, the best food of this kind we've had in a very long time. It's worth a drive to eat food this good!
The menu is diverse and varied, sort of a middle eastern melange. Shawarma dishes are a mainstay, with chicken, beef, or lamb. Lots of wonderful, exotic salads as well, Damascus, Tabbouleh.
The portions are enormous and prices very reasonable. Platters come with a couple of sides, such as stuffed grape leaves, eggplant salad, and baba ghanoush.
The rice is made to perfection! Mujadara rice is made with lentils and grilled onions, we've never had it before but now are hooked!
It's a small place, mostly for take out, with a few stools and a counter. Don't let that fool you. The food is gourmet quality, tasting homemade with attention and care to detail. The people making the food obviously care about their product, it’s not just a job for them. It all tastes freshly made, exotically spiced, and absolutely delicious!
The people are the nicest and friendliest. They make the experience even more special.
This is truly a wonderful, unique place. It's delicious and fun - isn't that what going out to eat is supposed to be about? You can find places like this if you know where to look in Queens New York - Stratford is very lucky to have them. We don't live that close but will be making the drive just...
Read moreLooking for an authentic fresh Mediterranean spot? Then my Gyro is the place to go. It’s family owned, so you know they care about the people and the ingredients they put in their food. There’s not a lot of additives, so the quality is great and not filled with a lot of unhealthy ingredients. Vegetables were fresh. The lettuce is Crisp tomatoes are juicy and the White sauce or cucumber sauce is a perfect blend to put over any of the food you get. The hummus tasted like he just whipped it up in front of us. The service was amazing. We were greeted soon as we walked. He gave us a few recommendations and some samples of things we might’ve wanted to try in the future. The owner is the cook, so he takes pride and what he do. Had great conversation and a few laughs while waiting. He’s very interactive with his customers. As people where walking in he knew them a a first name bases. There can be some wait time for some of the chicken but that’s so he knows no one will get sick and he can sleep at night. Overall, my experience at this location was...
Read moreI visited My Gyro and Falafel yesterday, and I was genuinely impressed with the quality of the food. I ordered the falafel platter along with baklava, and both were absolutely delicious. The falafel was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The platter came with fresh sides that complemented the dish really well.
The baklava was also a standout—sweet, flaky, and rich without being overly heavy. It was the perfect way to end the meal.
The place felt clean and welcoming, and the service was efficient. While it was a short visit, the food alone made it a memorable stop. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try, especially if you enjoy Mediterranean flavors. It’s worth trying...
