Wow! Please someone teach the short, dark haired waiter some customer service skills . We had a large party but wanted to drink at bar , due to having 2 underage kids , we were told kids were able to sit at the table that was reserved for my daughter . The reservation ( for dinner ) was for 2 at high top that sat 6. The waiter approached table after we had ready had drinks and asked if everyone was ordering food. The kids asked for desert menu as my daughter was at bar looking at food menu . We told him she was going to order food and was going to sit at table to order. We were told we were taking up too many seats and was too chaotic and we’d have to leave . We were spending money, not sitting there with just water. No one was loud, rude or out of hand or in the way. The waiter asked us to leave as there were reservations lined up . Remind you this was our reserved table and there was no one waiting . And food was going to be ordered as well as a large alcohol tab . The waiter told us to leave and proceeded to physically reach over and grab drinks out of our hands . My daughter left her coat inside with her car keys , she was told she was now trespassing and police were called. Working in hospitality I would totally understand any of this if we were taking a table that wasn’t ours, being disrespectful, or disturbing other parties and not spending $ None of this was the case . Why would anyone want to feel the need to be so in control they go to the point of grabbing glasses out of hands, causing a very peaceful situation escalate to that point ? Then to be told by other people that are at the bar he has done this multiple times to others ?? It’s too bad because we were enjoying being with family and the place is really nice . Workers that in this service are normally trained to calmly de escalate incidents, not add...
Read moreIts my birthday week and we asked around for the best restaurant in the area and we were suggested this restaurant by several Stratton mountain employees which makes sense because we were staying at Stratton mountain resort. They said it was fine dining and my bf and I decided to give it a try and I was very disappointed. First the food isn’t fresh. It comes out right away.. I had he beet and “fresh mozzarella “ salad because of the mozzarella (which is the only cheese I eat). I asked for extra on the side. I received a salad that had diced up (like bacon bits) cold, refrigerated mozzarella cheese. The “fresh” mozerella” on the side had beet stain and was cold and chopped up .. which I figured were taken from another salad since it had beet stains on them. I didn’t eat it. I sent it back and got the stir fry instead. That was another disapointment. I never had stir fry with broth at the bottom. The vegetables look recooked and old. And the broth had / lemony tangy taste. And as gross as this may sound , I had iratable bowels in the morning
My bf had crab cakes and they came out warm and not hot. He sent it back and wanted it hot and when he recieve them he said it was better but wasn’t fresh. He said it tasted like they were just refried in old, dirty oil . He did enjoy the muscles though.
The deserts were chocolate cake and peanut butter cake and they were the best thing on that menu that we had last night.
What was the most disappointing is that no one came to talk to us about why the dishes were sent back. Felt like we were at a two star restaurant AT ABSOLUTE BEST .. it has a captive audience but the service and food itself was not good. Verde is way better. Better and more attentive staff and better tasting...
Read moreFire Tower Owners: please be informed that Feb 10, 2025, your host and bartender “manager” chose to happily CANCEL at time of reservation 6:45 pm (at no charge) a reservation for 16 people because they could not be bothered to move a table of 4 (who were not even at the restaurant yet) to a 6 top on the other side of restaurant so the 16 could stay together. The kicker? They said an adult “needed” to be at the larger table of 12 with the teenagers during the dinner party. So adults need to stay WITH the teens but then they refused to sit us together?! NOT willing to make accommodations for us at a time when NO ONE was even waiting for tables?! Baffling!
I’m sorry our group of 16 made plans to eat at your restaurant weeks in advance, planned a birthday party there, ordered multiple drinks at the bar an hour before our dinner only to be shown the IPAD numerous times and lectured on complicated seating arrangements and how a table of 4 can’t me moved to a table for 6 because omg they might have to remove 2 place settings?
No business owner would ever do this. This was a decision made by people who would be paid the same amount with or without the “hassle” of a group of 16 eating there within the 90 minute window.
Thankfully, our group of 16 was welcomed by Mulligans nearby. They were so accommodating last minute and saved our sanity and a girls birthday dinner. Shame on you Fire Tower for doing this to us so last minute. Many in our dining party have been visiting FT for over a decade and what a way to sour this experience...
