My fiance and I went on Friday night for our second anniversary. It was my first time there. We usually go to the Spaghetti Warehouse in Akron, because that's where we first met. It was his idea to go to this place. When we got there, we weren't greeted at all. And we didn't know that we had to wait to be seated. So, my fiance actually signed in, not knowing what to do, after waiting for a half hour, not being greeted at all. People were there, waiting to get their take out. And one customer told me that she called in her order at 2:30, and it was then 6:30. There's no excuse for that poor service. I felt for her. We didn't have a reservation and we waited for two more reservations that never showed. Finally, after an hour of waiting, we were seated. The waitress, at first, was great. She came out and got our orders and told us there was entertainment on Fridays, which was good. A female singer/guitar player was there and she was very good. Our soup and salad came out quickly and they were very good. They were out of ranch dressing, so the waitress suggested Italian dressing. They make their own dressing and it was really good. The only thing is, they give a tiny plastic container of it. I had to ask for another. My fiance and I got the spaghetti with meat sauce. He got two extra meatballs and said they were delicious. The spaghetti came out about a half hour after our soup and salad were finished. I wasn't happy with the bland sauce, neither was he. We had to season it with Parmesan cheese and salt and pepper and it was still bland. We couldn't finish the food, so we sat there, waiting for our waitress to return, so we could get to-go containers. She never came back. It took another staff member to bring out the containers. And she put our food in them for us. Our waitress was in another section of the restaurant, talking and socializing with other customers. We sat there, watching her. I asked the other staff worker to get our check for us. She wasn't a waitress, but was better than our waitress. She should have gotten the tip. The waitress finally came over with the check. It was a long wait for her and there was no reason for that. We paid and gave her a nice tip, which she didn't deserve. I won't be back. The food was bland. The service was very poor. The price was too high, for what we got. My regret is, it would have been better at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Akron. We never had bad service there and the food is always delicious. And they are very busy too. If my fiance wants to go back here, he can go without me. I won't ever return. I plan on sprinkling my "Mrs. Dash" on my leftovers today. That should give it some flavor. My suggestion is, go somewhere else. It's not worth the...
Read moreWow, I can say this is the WORST experience at a restaurant, and I didn't even dine in.
We ordered a door dash for just at 100$
3 dinners, which include 3 salads Loaf of bread and pint of ranch and a cake.
Driver arrives, Missing a salad, the loaf and the cake ( which were 2 of the 4 for my kids who just wanted a snack)
I called, told the staff, she apologized and said come on and get it. No issue there other than I had to inhale mine so I can go get the kids.
I got there, Bag was ready but explained that it really defeated the purpose of a family sit down at home missing half the order and paying a delivery fee.
She agreed and went to get a manager.
Manager *( woman) walks over not even knowing anything about this and askes me, " so what's wrong"
I explained , we ordered, half is missing, and my dinner order / experience was a waste in simple terms.
Told her what was missing, looks at the bag and says " it's right here, so what's wrong"?
I replied, I paid for delivery, it is right here and I had to come to get it and it displaced the purpose and costs I paid to have it... where I was..
I asked can you help me out?
She offers a dessert, I passed,
( I did watch a DD driver walk in, show an order and handed the bag, so it was the restaurnt who bagged it, not fault of the driver)
She offered a credit, I said sure. She looks at the cashier and asks her to hop get a pad. The worker questiond where it was or confirmed to get a pad... The manager yells across the kitchen, " hurry up, I'm busy".
Well your handling an issue, maybe focus on the one in front of you with a wasted 100$ experience at the fault of your own?
She now she has the pad, asks my name, then starts adding up the value of the items. I replied we had 11$ in fees, and spent nearly 100$ for a busted dinner, can we just do half the total. 50$
She looks up like I was on fire and says, " NO, I'm not gonna do that. I explained again why it was a fair offer for wasting my money and time.
She reaches in the bag, pull out the bread and says, " it was only a loaf of bread"?
I said "did you really just say that? That's my kids meal and so was the dessert and it's only a loaf of bread"?
I don't care what it is, you missed half my order, made me come get it and now want to disrespect me in the front of your store?
I told her forget it, keep it, grabbed my missing items and left.
Better yet, I get home and its still my missing my kids salad.
So 0-2 on bagging a paid for order. 0-100 on professionalism and class.
Keep it, ill never be back or suggest your business forward.
Bottom line, you need a new manager ASAP or some serious customer...
Read moreWhen i moved into the area this place was good. The longer it operated on glassman ownership the worse it got. From italian village to pasta lears and santos, All have either gotten really bad or been closed by the family that owns the supermarket and all these italian places and pancake houses
Edit: holy cow man. If you are really the owner responding like this, yikes. Everyone is allowed their opinion. You dont have to like it but a response like that. Sheesh man... this isnt gonna make me wanna come back. While i may have my own issues with your location, i also dont want you to turn into amys baking company. Also diitalia brookpark doesnt even have a google page... Or website... lets talk about business 101.. you buy a successful business... rebrand it.. dont advertise the rebrand so many of the regulars think its closed. The. Responded like a child to someone who has concerns with your business... now if it were me.. this would be a great opportunity. Take someone who not only has issue with the restaurant but bussiness's ownes by the family in general. No, instead you attack and ramble with a response that requires mutiple reads to understand.
Lets talk about your local business comment shall we
Firstly marcs has locations in columbus. Thats not local Marcs was actually more or less created from bernie shulmans, which they bought and took the model. It has over60 locations. Not local. Marcs owned dover lake for about ten years. And closed it. Marcs owns like 6 restaurants. All of which were purchased from the local owners. If anything marcs is an evil corporate entity preying on local business. Not a local one themselves.
Your goal is keep and increase business... not loose it.. did you go to school for business?
If so, what school? Remind me not...
