I highly recommend Patisserie 42 and Joann!
First, her cakes are SO DELICIOUS!!! When we tried her samples for our wedding, my fiancé and I thought every option was just fantastic. It was hard to pick just one and ended up having three different flavors/combinations for our wedding cake. I still think about how delectable it tasted and I cannot wait to have it again on our one year anniversary!
Second, Joann and her team were wonderful to work with. Despite almost having to go on maternity leave, Joann accepted my wedding and was very kind and courteous in helping me decided on the design for the cake. She was so helpful in explaining the different techniques and what would work well with our wedding size and budget.
Third, even though Joann was on maternity leave when I had my wedding (congratulations on your bundle of joy!), our wedding cake tasted and looked just as we had hoped. This just speaks to the wonderful talent and team at Patisserie 42.
One last note about her cakes; the guests loved it, too!! One guest even called the day after our wedding wanting to know if there were any leftovers and if they could have any! haha!
I will definitely be reordering from Patisserie 42 for all our special occasions. :)

Read moreWe used Patisserie 42 for our wedding in the fall of 2019. After getting a few professionally created cakes over the year I stand by our choice of using this bakery for our big day.
I wish I remember the gentleman's name who we did all our transactions with... because he also baked our cake and everything was AMAZING! I believe he had 20+ years of experience and it showed. This was also the only bakery we taste tested - there was no reason to try anywhere else.
We decided on a 3-tier cake, 2/3 were a custom flavor of chocolate with "grey stuff" moose and 1/3 was a white cake with a lemon and fresh raspberry filling all in a melt-in-your-mouth light italian buttercream.
He understood my vision when it came to the decoration and was able to keep to my wish of no fondant. We took a part of my gown and was recreated as a pattern, the attention to detail for such a simple style cake was beautiful.
Everyone loved the cake and we heard it from our friends and family. Only amount left was our top tier to take home because people went back for 2nds!

Read moreWe hired Romel to make Italian style cookies for our cookie table at our wedding.He also set up other cookies that family friends made. At the end of the day, everything worked out. The cookie table was beautiful and all of our guests were complimenting the desserts he made.
However, this was by far the worst vendor we had in regards to communication. In the beginning, we received email responses right away. As soon as we sent our check, it took several weeks to a month for a response. I was never sent an actual contract stating all the details until I had to ask multiple times for one just to make sure he had all the details. I spent a lot of time stressing over this and kept thinking I was getting scammed. However, we trusted Taste Of Excellence for recommending them. On the day of our wedding, he gave us a window of what time he would arrive 12-3. It was getting close to 3:00, and because of our history of not hearing from him, we called. My planner had to call 5 times and leave a voicemail. He showed up at 3:00.
Again, it all worked out and was absolutely beautiful but I feel communication when planning a wedding is very important and other brides should be prepared for this should you choose...
