ANYONE WITH ALLERGIES SHOULD BEWARE!!!!
I suffer from severe allergies to peanuts and tree nuts. Upon sitting down I asked the server if she knew what oil they used for frying as well as if any of their food contained peanuts/nuts. The server replied with an attitude upon hearing my question and said she would check with the kitchen.
About 15 minutes later she comes back with the food and doesn't say a word about whether the food contains any allergens. I had ordered the Classic breakfast which consists of a waffle, eggs, hash browns and sausage links. She puts the food on our table and quickly hurries away. I don't touch my food until she comes back. When she does I once again ask her. To which she says they use soy bean oil and that I should be ok.
Well my OK was that a few minutes after I left the restaurant I began experiencing the first signs of anaphylaxis. I got a rash on my face, my throat started to hurt and itch and I felt unwell. I ended up having to visit the ER where I spent a few hours under their care to get the reaction under control.
This place is not sensitive to allergies. Their online menu does not include any ingredients so in the end you don't know what exactly caused the reaction. It's a wonder that no other people have gone through a similar experience and that they are not closed. It should be illegal to run a food establishment where servers are ignorant of allergens and where they seem to simply not care about customers who suffer from...
Read more*Potatoes chunks must be kept in a warmer and not cooked fresh- they were very chewy and tough, almost inedible. Hash browns came out lukewarm and mushy in the middle. Paid 1.99 extra to have the potato chunks and hash browns "loaded" (cheese, sour cream, chives) and the cheese wasn't even melted. *The Oatmeal Cinnamon Pancakes are supposed to be topped with almonds, pecans, and cranberries; I ordered 3 pancakes and received 2 dried cranberries, 2 almond slices, and 1/2 a pecan sprinkled pitifully on top. The pancakes themselves had some raw oats and cinnamon thrown on top. *The Spicy Chicken and Waffles came with a sad amount of chicken, probably about 1 1/4 chicken fingers. To be fair the chicken itself was cooked well and crispy it just wasn't nearly enough for the price. One half of the waffle just had straight Sriracha on it (not good) and the other half had a Sriracha maple syrup blend. *The water tasted vaguely like Sierra mist. It was sad. *We only ate a little over 1/2 our food. The server gave us our check, when I began to express our dissatisfaction I assured them that even though we were dissatisfied with our food we would not dock their tip. They got short with me and cut me off, asking if I just wanted them to take the orders of potatoes off the check. We said yeah sure why not. They brought back our card and spoke to us very rudely. *We will not be going back. The food was sad and not worth the $30 they tried...
Read moreAfter leaving Mass my wife and I looked for a breakfast joint on Google. Scramblers had pretty high rating so we thought we'd give it a try. The host brought us ice water followed by coffee which was nice. The waitress then came out and greeted us, we asked for butter which she never brought so we had to ask one of the busboys, who acted confused that we asked for two sides of butter and continued to shake his head as he walked away. I ordered the ultimate which is an omelette with a ton of veggies and meat, it was decent but they sort you on sour cream by putting a teaspoon size dollop on top. My wife ordered a skillet which was supposed to have meat in it -- she was brought out one egg on top of spinach with no meat which was sent back, there was no apology or any deduction on our check for the mistake. She ordered a side of vegetables as a replacement for bread, we were told there would be an upcharge but it didn't matter anyway because the vegetables were never brought with her skillet. I know it sounds like I'm complaining about every detail but we usually give fair reviews and I think this one is fair for sure. All the dishes around us that people were ordering that included pancakes and bread looked very hardy and delicious.. I think it just comes down to the more expensive items like omelets and meat dishes where this place falls short. I'd also rate our server as disinterested and...
