ELM CITY CAFE — Restaurant in Stuart

Just had breakfast at Elm City Cafe...to hear loudly in a small room one server state we have the best delicious coffee ...meh not so much imo...to hear the same server state to another guest that the home fries potatoes are the best...meh mot so much imo ...We had a different server who was attentive until the end... our meal was served and for a 3 egg Western omelette ( asked for mushrooms but were not available, imo odd) was rather small..but i did like it...across the street a 3 egg is at least half again larger...the potatoes home fries were not cooked thru...the waffle was terrible..did not eat half of it...imo the batter was too thick and when cooked became grainy...the scrambled eggs with cheese were dry Eggs had no cheese evident...paper thin inedible ate two bites ..Food left on the plate... didn't even try the sausage patty...to top it off when the server asked if we needed a box..as most of the food as left ion the plates and my wife's reaction should have been an indication to ask what was wrong or how to help...no reaction by the server... I asked for the check...a check was not presented but just told the total of $50.69...paid cash and left .. Side note...why have pizza making pictures on the wall and have a serving area at door saying New Haven Style pizza..if you don't have pizza...

Have been several times. I am pescatarian and have been able to find so many great choices. Waffles are unbelievably delicious! Avocado toast (have not had fresh tomato like the ones at Elm City since I left home-MD) Tomato soup & grilled cheese is a great comfort food for a midday reset.
