We went to the new Mexican restaurant, El Patron, in Sturgis, Mi that is in front of Walmart.
The interior had been completely renovated and looks amazing. We were promptly seated and drunk orders taken.
Tara ordered their Pina Malibu, served in a glass and a whole fresh pineapple (so basically two drinks in one) it tasted amazing with a nice coconut pineapple flavor. I indulged in a 38 oz lime margarita on the rocks. While the margarita lacked a bit in the lime flavor, halfway through it started to hit and you really didn't notice and just enjoyed the trip to Margaritaville
The chips and salsa were very good and we had a hard time limiting the amount we ate while waiting for the main course
Luckily we didn't have to wait long. Tara ordered the Jalisco Special which consisted is steak, chicken, shrimp, sautéed onion, and peppers and served on a bed of rice and smothered in queso dip. The flavor of the chicken and steak was out of this world and the shrimp was delicious too.
I decided to try their Mojarra a la Diablo. It was a whole fried fish served with a red hot sauce with a side of rice. I opted to go with some refried beans instead of onions and avocado. First bite was a little intense with how much heat that red sauce had but loved every bite. Definitely will order again.
We were going to save room for dessert, but the meals were so large and filling that we will have to wait till next time.
Very pleased with the service and quality of food and looking forward to coming back time and again to work our way through their...
Read moreEl Patrón formerly Savory’s restaurant has taken a boring old restaurant and turned it into a very amazing Mexican restaurant. Would give this restaurant 4 thumbs up, but unfortunately I only have 2 thumbs. Greeted at the door. Smile on their face. Young lady dropped off chips and amazing salsa. Are waiter was very nice. They don’t over whelm you with hurry up and make a decision. Food was fantastic spiced just right. Now I’m not a big fan of avocado but they truly know what they’re doing. If you knew me and I liked it must have been phenomenal. I had the shrimp fajitas which came with 2 plates one cast iron skillet with shrimp onions peppers tomatoes and a seasoning that was so amazing needless to say they wasn’t skimping on the shrimp . On the other plate your Mexican rice, lettuce, tomato onion mix, sour cream, avocado and, fajita shells and, of course refried beans. My husband ordered a taco chalupa and enchilada which also came with the same 2nd plate. I so happen to steal a bite of the enchilada was really good. He was impressed with the food. I feel the same. Think they’ve outdone themselves. If you don’t believe me go check them out for yourself. I did get a few pictures but not a fan of just taking pictures of people who are eating. The restaurant is very nice looking they have leather booths and tables maybe marble, rustic and modern style with your Mexicano setting. Don’t forget to tip your waiter for all that amazing food. You...
Read moreBy far my favorite experience at a restaurant!!! I ordered the seafood boil & they told me that because of it being Friday & what I ordered that it would be a bit. No worries. Got my meal, started in, crayfish, not good. But I keep eating the rest because it looks, smells & tastes good. Waiter comes to see how everything is, I show him. He brings over another person & he takes my meal. Waiter comes over & starts offering me ANYTHING I want from the menu. I was honestly almost full from what I ordered so I asked if I could get take out... yes I could. I ended up getting a torta for my son, which I was going to order anyway, and I also ordered what would have been my leftovers if they didn't take what I didn't eat from that boil. While I was waiting for my take out, the Waiter then brings me out a shot of tequila... I'm beyond hapoy with the service I got!!! Thank you!!!!! Definitely didn't expect...
