Sigh I am a die hard Meijer shopper. This store has really let me down. I regularly shopped Meijer for EVERYTHING! I can't at this store. Shelves are bare, everywhere, in the hardware department. I was looking for drill bits and a large flat head screwdriver. There were none! Nothing! I went over into women's clothes. Not many things to find for plus size. I then went into the grocery section. There were a lot of bare shelves and bare refrigerated cases, as well. In all fairness, it was at the end of the Memorial weekend.......BUT.......as I said, I shopped Meijer regularly (like a couple times a week, every week) all over Michigan, and never had this kind of experience before. Tragic.
UPDATE We were pleased to see the shelves more full. We went in on a Sunday evening (02/19/23). The produce department was kind of skimpy. It was late in the day too. They had what we went in for though, and the rest of the grocery aisles were pretty well stocked, so a definite improvement over our last few times there. Good job Meijer!
UPDATE I am pretty disappointed. I went to this store back in August 2024. I was at the refrigerated section of the produce department where the plant based products are. I love the variety of products that Meijer offers in this section. Unfortunately, two of our major staples were all expired......every single one, by at least a month expired.
We went back to Meijer yesterday, 10/03/2024. The whole shelf section, on the right, closest to the bakery, of the refrigerated plant based area was bare! The cheese, crumbles, and hot dogs were stocked. The area, where the Eat Meati mushroom filets, ground plant based, and the two pack plant based burger patties are, was 97% empty. The frozen Ezekiel bread area was getting pretty bare as well. I am so not used to these experiences at Meijer.
UPDATE I was in this Meijer, today 07/31/2025. The plant based products were pretty skimpy. There were a lot of bare spaces on the shelves. This is the plant based area in the produce department. I am still finding outdated products there. One item that I wanted to purchase expired, yesterday 07/30/2025, and another item that I wanted to purchase expired today, 07/31/2025. When I went to checkout, I noticed that my Mperks were not being applied. I was told that the Mperks were down. This is sad. I have used Mperks since they first became a thing. I have never had this...
Read moreI am very disappointed AGAIN with this Meijer Store. Made a special trip to buy spring flowers to plant, and they had their Garden Center closed!! I was told by a stock girl that they didn't have anyone to work the Garden Center. Why couldn't I have bought some flowers & bring them inside to checkout? Then, the plumbing part that my hubby needed did not have price or barcode anywhere on the packaging, so of course, we were unable to use the self checkout like Meijer wants us to do. We were forced to use the one & only checkout clerk that was available. So the clerk calls the hardware depart & nobody answers (I knew that was going to happen). As people started to back up behind us, another clerk removed us from the line & took us to Customer Service. She wouldn't take our word for it that the price was $13.99, so she heads back to the hardware dept with hubby following her. Meanwhile, while I was waiting for them to come back, I heard somebody say that our previous checkout clerk was very sick & had been that way ALL DAY! He was hanging his head down when he was waiting on us & we wondered what was wrong with him. This kid was NOT wearing a mask and was EXPOSING everyone he checked out today with his SICK GERMS!! We are Seniors and if either of us get Covid or Influenza, I am going to sue Meijer! In this day & and age, you do NOT allow a very sick employee to checkout & expose the public!!! Other employees were standing there, like the price check girl who didn't believe us, that could have clerked. SEND the SICK BOY HOME!! OMG! I couldn't...
Read moreThis Meijers was such a nice clean store when it opened. Now not only is dirty and run down looking we have beggers. Yes beggers, not bums beggers. Tonight I was shopping and was back in the frozen food section, a black man came up beggin money from me and when I said something about being on a budget and feeding my family he walked away but not without cussing me. Real fun huh? Well I told the employee in the front of the store....I don't know what was said or done didn't look like anything to me...ohhh and Mr no money I haven't eaten in days. .....he went through a self check where he PAID for his items apparently. He was about 1 minute behind me getting to the check outs, at least he had enough sense not to speak to me again. I don't know about a return trip anytime soon. The thing that bothers me the most I guess is I picture my legally blind mother at the store, what if that had been her??? She is 70 plus years old!!! How would things have turned out then,,??? And that was my experience at Meijers of Sturgis. Please don't ask about...
