King Dragon Buffet — Restaurant in Sturgis

I like their Salmon, apple turnovers, chicken meatbols, broccoli-beef stir fry, green beans, & their crab Rangoon is the best in town I’ve found so far - stuffed really well! When they bring out a fresh pan of crab Rangoon, it’s hot, flavorful, and doesn’t last too long. Always go when it’s busy, then the food is more hot & fresher because it gets used up quicker & changed more frequently. But I think that’s true of any buffet, really. Fried rice is pretty good when it’s just put out fresh. If it’s been sitting a while, it can be a little dry. But I have seen attendants come out to add liquids to foods to keep them moist. Salad bar could use some more topping options, it’s a little sparse. And they only have ice burg lettuce, not even romaine or baby spinach to add to your plate. Fresh fruit is good when fresh. I’ve always gotten drink refills, but rarely need them. $11/adult plate has been okay, I’ve always gotten my fill on the first go around. Raspberry tea without ice has been my favorite; my father has liked their coffee & it’s come good & hot to the table. You need to be careful of their parking lot though, even the turn-in is getting rough. The place does need some updating & TLC. And yes, the bathrooms really need fixing. My husband and I stopped in while in Sturgis looking at a car. It wasn't full-on dinner rush, about 4:30 p.m.on a Saturday, but they had a fair amount of diners on site. I was impressed! Not a lot of Sushi, which is fine with me. But they had a very nice "cold" buffet section, and the three sections of hot foods were well stocked, mostly very fresh and HOT. I don't know if there's a certain word for it, but they also have that pick-your-own option to have stir-fried on the spot. And it all looked good! Just a few things looked less than ideal all in all, and a few were cooked not to my preference. I didn't note anything I tried that was over-greasy, nor over-battered. The staff was very pleasant, and kept the tables bussed well. The restroom wasn't the best, but it was clean. CHECK YOU FOOD BEFORE TAKING A BITE!! I've decided that if I'm gonna be forced from now on to check my food for chef hairs, I no longer wish to pick up anything from here because, 1: a health hazard is now going on, and 2: when informed by a phone call about this issue, it was everyones fault but the cooks, from I shouldn't have been eating two day old food because 'it's no longer good' even after being refrigerated, to blaming the hairs on being from 'other customers'.. EXCUSE ME.. Were people sticking there heads up under the sneeze guards? What I found wasn't just SITTING ON TOP of the food I packed up, it was STUCK WITHIN a piece, and it was more than one food that they were spotted in. I was offered a free replacement box, but at this point with the 'everybody else but us did it' attitude, and the fact that I doubt the cooks will get told or be more careful, I am not comfortable risking this...
