Castlewood Restaurant — Restaurant in Sturtevant

Restaurant was not busy at all for a Friday Night at 5:00pm. This restaurant USED TO have more hours but has since reduced to ONLY OPEN LATE ON FRIDAY. I do not think many people know this. They are open M-SAT 6AM-3M *EXCEPT FRIDAYS OPEN 6AM TO 7PM they have a very extensive menu. They serve Mexican AND American food. They have BREAKFAST ALL DAYthat can become very difficult to find, as restaurant close TOO EARLY. I LOVE their Garden Vegetable Soup on Fridays. The soup contains all fresh vegetables and a tomato broth. I do not like the blasting rock Milwaukee Radio Station they play in the restaurant. I am a LONG TIME REGULAR CUSTOMER. I liked the Country Music the former owner played. This restaurant in in the small country community of Sturtevant , WI. and I enjoyed dining to the the Country Music. Many of the REGULAR CUSTOMER NO LONGER PATRONIZE this restaurant. We used to be greeted by the former owner. The former owner used to walk around to our tables and ask how everything was. We made friends with customers and the regular wait staff in the past. This restaurant USED TO BE standing room only for awhile on Friday evenings. Now days two customers and one waitress are only here beside the owners. T his restaurant USED TO FEEL INVITING AND COZY...GONE are those days. I still visit this restaurant with it's beloved memories and friends made. I met someone three years ago here and she is still my close friend. Gone but not forgotten is Elizabeth with her friendly smile and bright red hair. God Rest Her Soul. I looked forward to a relaxing dinner with new found friends here at the restaurant named Castlewood. I wish those days would RETURN. CASTLEWOOD IS OPEN LATE ON...

We had a late family breakfast here and we are never disappointed. Immediate seating with our large group, even with the spaced out seating due to covid-19, friendly service as always, and our server had no problems keeping up with us and our 5 kids, which were well behaved suprisingly.

Considering the amount of food we ordered it came quickly and was all as we ordered. The Homestyle Cinnamon French Toast was a huge hit across the board with the different topping being shared since so many had ordered it, it was even a win for my vegetarian daughter that had little to choose from. We hoped for turkey bacon or sausage since my grandson and myself were the only ones that eat pork but we managed with extra eggs and fruit. Myself, I had a wonder omelet with the rest of the plate filled with perfectly coiked hashbrowns and toast.

So at the end of the meal everyone was stuffed...

This is a good diner with a broad selection of food. The restaurant is tucked away by the railroad tracks in Strutevant. To no fault of their own, the surrounding area does not seem fit formed for a restaurant, but it was ok inside. The parking lot was full and almost all the tables were taken, so people are aware of the restaurant and love it and packed it this Sunday morning. Some parts were a bit outdated, but nothing was dirty or uncomfortable. The menu was vast. Prices are rising everywhere, but this one was just a bit higher than most restaurants that I would compare to its size and condition. We would certainly go back. I just wasn’t able to give it a five star review. The food was good, served fresh and hot, and the staff was friendly.
