The downstairs hall smells strong of fish fry. The kitchen in the hall was disgusting! I had pans of mostiacholli to heat up, and because the oven was so dirty, the oven began to smoke horribly. One banquet sized pan had to be thrown out because the oven had smoked the entire pan of food making it bitter and unusable. We ended up heating the other pans of food on the stove top because of the condition of the oven. I also had to clean parts of the kitchen before we could even prepare the food because of the condition of the kitchen area. The microwave in the kitchen didn't work. We were told by a staff member that it hasn't worked in months. So why keep the thing!?! Thank goodness my daughter, the bride, had no clue about the troubles we experienced with the hall and how disorganized the staff here were. (Their downstairs bar wasn't ready on time for the guests either!) There's a reason why this hall is so cheap...so beware. Preheat your food before arriving at this place or your food won't be ready on time or it'll get smoked out by their dirty oven. I'm tempted to contact the health inspector. Yep...it was that bad. We left that kitchen cleaner than it was when we got there. The owner should be ashamed at how their "cook" left that kitchen in that horrid condition. After seeing it, there's no way in Hell I'd...

I love this place! I've been coming to this bar for over 20 years and it keeps getting better. They maintain the building very well and have continued making improvements over time. The food is great. It's bar food that you actually DON'T need to be drunk to enjoy. The portions are generous, food is made to order, and the ingredients always taste fresh. The staff is super friendly and the service is very quick. You can come in after work and have a couple beers while relaxing and watching a local sports game from several diffetent tv's or shoot some pool or play pinball. There's also a line dance class on Tuesday evenings where anyone is welcome to join. I think there's a 4 or 5 dollar cover charge for the line dance lessons, but well worth it for over 3 hours of dancing and fun. The dance floor is wood and has been nicely taken care of and is large enough to accommodate everyone. Also, they have outdoor seating for nicer weather and horseshoe pits for leagues. There's a large parking lot in the back of the building with access from 2 roads. Basically, there's a little something for everyone at The Hiawatha. Give it a try. It might just become your favorite...

Very homie atmosphere, they just remodeled, very kind customer service, BEST FISH FRY! I have went to numerous places for fish fry and I must say this is the best place when it comes to taste, quantity, and options. I don’t eat beer batter fish but I seen them using new glarus beer for the batter, no I know it’s legit. My go to is the Cod with Panko crust, such fat and beautiful pieces god it’s to die for. The Coleslaw is good, the options of potato side is amazing, you can get potato wedges, potato pancake, and fries all are valid choices. Each fish fry average price is $14-16. Did I mention their bathrooms are very well cleaned with air fresheners? IMPROVEMENTS: None

This is a local hotspot for great food & entertainment. I take my mom here a lot for lunch because we know it’s always going to be delicious! On St. Patrick’s day they serve a Reuben that I promise will be the best you ever had! They smoke the brisket for a day & it melts in your mouth! They also make a delicious Bloody Mary! Always a 10 out of 10

We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon and we were extremely happy because the food was great but they actually had a live band playing old time polka songs accordion and all! People were dancing and having the time of their life! What fun! They play the second Sunday of every month and started about 1pm. We will be back!!
