DO NOT HIRE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! I had a service call to fix my range and washing machine. The range was repaired to my satisfaction.
He narrowed down the problem with the washing machine to one of two parts. He recommended that I order both and try them to see which it was. After installing both new parts, the problem persisted. I also discovered that his son was wrenching on the drain plug and may have cross threaded it. (see picture)
I called them back and attempted to setup another service call to fix the washing machine. She said she would call me back.
After a few days, I called back and was informed by the rude woman on the phone that nothing was damaged and that they don't work on appliances that someone else had previously worked on. She also knew exactly what happened in my home while she wasn't there.
If you want someone to guess at your problem and recommend that you buy the parts yourself, this is the company for you. If you want the problem fixed, please call anyone else.

With regards to the refrigerator, I told you up front that I had previously replaced the water valve and that did not solve the issue.
Back to the washer. You tried a switch that you had on your truck, but you said that it may not have been the proper switch. You recommended that I order the proper switch as well as the main control board as the problem was with one of those components. You told me that you would be stuck paying for the components if you ordered them and recommended that I buy them myself to avoid that.
I was charged $187 which I gladly paid, not the $42 he lied about. See pictures.
As for the phone call, my initial call was very friendly. I simply stated that I had ordered and installed the parts recommended and that I still had the same problem. I also mentioned my concern with the drain plug. I requested a phone call from you at that time so we could figure out the best way to complete the repair. The office girl immediately started arguing and telling me that you would never recommend that someone order their own parts or leave something unrepaired. After several minutes of attempting to communicate with her, I stated that I "just need to get it fixed." she said that she would have to talk to you and then call me back. We said our goodbyes and ended the call. I never once stated that I wanted you to come back for free.
You are correct about my second call. I waited a few days and called back when I didn't hear anything from you. I did open by saying that I called a few days ago and didn't receive a call back. After giving her my name, I was informed by your office girl that you told her you weren't going to do any additional service work for me. She quoted you, saying "if he calls back, tell him I'm not going to do any more work for him." I was also informed by her that you never touched my washer or even looked at it, nor was it on the original workorder. She told me that I'm the one that chewed up the drain plug with a wrench and that I was lying. She became even more argumentative and continued calling me a liar. She also informed me that you don't work with DIY'ers. You only work on appliances that are broken and no troubleshooting has occured. She used an example of a clogged drain and said something to the effect of: I had a clogged drain so I called a plumber. He went down there and fixed it and I paid him. That seems pretty ridiculous to me-you didn't even look to see if something was covering it? Do you own a toilet plunger? After continously being called a liar, being told that you wouldn't service my appliances, and being interrupted every time I tried to complete a statement, I did in fact hang up on her.
I think this would've ended up in a much better place if I was able to speak with you directly. If you did it attempt to call me, I never received a voicemail, and I don't show a missed...
Read moreSeems the owner likes to gaslight customers. This owner seems to reply with excuses and make it the customers fault for the lack of his communication and inability to update his company to the times we live in. They're elements to my review that I left out as I thought Don may take some responsibility to his actions. But, he called me 1-time. Left a voicemail, told me he was going to reschedule my service. I was working, I didn't know who called. The voicemail was choppy, all I could hear was Don and repair. I didn't hear the business name. 5-minutes after the missed call, I called Don back to respect his time and courtesy. The words cancellation never came out of my mouth. Don immediately assumed this, that is where the call took different direction and I decided I wasn't going to have him come to my house or give him the business.
I decided to take a walk at this time and Don asked if I was home, I told him I was not, he then said, "that explains why you didn't answer the door." I checked my ring camera's when he said this and I didn't see that Don ever came to my house. I figure, maybe he did show up with-in the 5-minutes I left to take a walk. I asked Don serveral times for the name of his business and his repsonse was "you tell me why I called you, Mr. Lampton?" This was unprofessional and rude. I honestly did not want to waste this guy's time, I was going to have him service me anyways but his attitude from start to finish was horrible. I asked him, who are you and your business. I already had someone service my machine so I need to make sure its not the same company. This upset Don, gaslit me into thinking that calling multiple companies for service is wrong. Don would talk over me, so he wasn't hearing anything I had to say. I had to google his number and find the business that way.
But thats not really the issue here, Don. Having used to work in IT Support for 15 years, I understand cancellations but at what point do you take responsibility for that? Recurring billing to ensure cancellations? Cancellation fees? If you don't have these things in-place, this isn't really the customers fault.
I read your reviews here on Google and I am one of MANY customers saying the samething. 1-person saying it could just be a person having a bad day, but many people saying the same things. They appreciate the good work but do not like the disrespect that comes with it. In the digital age, you will attrack more flies with honey than vinegar.
This company lacks basic communication with its customers. I never received a confirmation, calendar invite, or reference number for the service call, so I forgot I had even scheduled it. In the meantime, I booked with another company that sent reminders, calendar invite and provided real-time GPS tracking for their technician. I had a much better experience with this company than I did with Don.
Unless you have no other option, I suggest avoiding...
Read moreHave relied on Appliance Tech-Care Services multiple times. I think this may have been the first time, I had to call and leave a message. In listening to their answering message, it became obvious what kinds of questions they have had to answer again and again and again and again and again...! I appreciated the additional information. Return call was prompt. We've gotten so used to people who answer the phone not knowing enough to do anything other than answer the phone. Marie is a no-nonsense font of appliance information! She can tell you which appliances are really good, and which ones are essentially junk. The more accurate I can be at describing the problem and giving make and model no., the more helpful she is at diagnosing the actual problem - and telling you whether it's worth repairing.
When Don arrived he got right to work confirming the diagnosis and fixing the problem. Because he had enough information ahead of time, he came with the parts that were needed - making the service call as quick as could reasonably by expected. It helps that he enjoys working on the older, better quality appliances that can still give you a few more years of service if properly cared for (and that don't need a replacement electronics board that has to be specially ordered). I also like to watch what Don does and ask questions, so I can understand how my appliances work. He has always taken the time to explain answers to my questions and doesn't seem to mind me hanging around watching.
I call Don and Marie, at Appliance Tech-Care, because they are good old-fashioned small business owners who know what they're talking about, know what they're doing, are realistic about what needs to be (and can be) done and, then, get it done as quickly as scheduling allows!!
Anyone who has ever bought appliances (or cars or homes), knows they are not cheap. The maintenance and repair of those things, when done by experienced professionals, will not be...
