I've been wanting to go here since we moved to GA as some in our area have recommended. However, I don't know what the big fuss is all about because our food was not made too specifications and what menu says and my dinner which was totally disappointing was tasteless except for the sour cream I put on it, although I should've put maybe way more. On 7/3/21 we ordered the following 3 meals:

  1. chicken tenders meal for my son - that was okay; 2) philly cheesesteak for my husband which had peppers and onions on it he asked for no onions and menu didn't say it had peppers or he would've said no peppers too;
  2. the "grilled" chicken fajita quesadilla and it says "grilled" chicken not shredded chicken & mac n cheese as a side. This had no seasoning, the onions you can generally taste them and depending on them union they can be even overpowering but I couldn't even taste them or the peppers, same as the gross shredded chicken (which there was barely any on too) but I could taste the cheese and a little of the sour cream I put on. I don't use pico, guacamole or salsa on quesadillas at all as I generally enjoy the taste of the chicken, or steak, peppers, & onions but this was totally gross. It was such a waste of time & money for my husband to drive all the way out there from Coolray Field area when we could've gotten McDonald's which would've tasted better - I don't care for fast food by the way and haven't in over 16yrs. I don't understand why so many raved about this place and to boot when whenever husband picked up our orders the girl told him that the quesadillas one of their most popular items!! He told me this when he got home before I even tried eating. I couldn't eat 1/4 of it. I ended up totally disgusted & a bit nauseous - not sure if it was because all I tasted was the cheese or what. I would've gone to Tacos & Tequilas or maybe Del Taco - I assume they have quesadilla & it would've been better & actual GRILLED chicken not shredded. I guess I can cross this place off my list of trying now. Was it maybe a mistake that the chicken was shredded? I don't know. But where was the seasonings too? There was nothing. I told my husband I felt like grabbing the salt, pepper & sour cream and dousing it. We've been to emergency rooms with my son 3x this week since Monday night & drs office and just wanted a decent meal out....we didn't get that really..my son liked his chicken tenders though. I wish I had taken a picture...

First visit was last Sat. Server Angie was awesome & my mozzarella sticks were pretty good. Than this Sat. I wanted to take my best friend. We sat down, the waitress came over, did not introduce herself, looks pretty exhausted, and she took her order after we were there about 10 minutes. After 45 minutes, we decided to leave. We had not received our appetizer or any food or anything, to include not a visit from our server. I called back upon leaving and asked for the Mgr. I was questioned as to what for so I said we were just there waiting 45 minutes and had not even received our appetizer. (The restaurant is a sports bar and had 3 men at the bar & no other patrons at this time). Before I could finish my statement as to why I wanted to speak to the manager this young fella was on the phone yelling at me, saying I was dining and dashing. He said he was calling the police and giving them my name and phone no. that was on caller ID. With this, my friend, and I went back into the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager one more time. We were met with a young man behind the bar, yelling and screaming, and saying that our food had already been taken care of and the men at the bar would enjoy. Please keep in mind. Our food still had not been prepared and was NOT out now we’re into an hour. THE SO CALLED MGR ON DUTY yelled and cursed my friend while a drunken man sitting at the bar felt the need to yell at me. To be told I cannot afford food when there was no food to afford and of course I told the drunk I can afford to eat any where around here, and to have the young Mgr on duty broadcast my name he saw on called ID t strangers I will never return and will spread the word . Learn how to train your staff! A. If there’s a problem in the kitchen tell your patron, B. If your server forgot the booth in the corner of the restaurant because she want to hang out at the bar then send someone else over to your patron C. Expect to have a complaint and teach your Mgr on duty how to handle a complaint when you don’t come to an empty table...

My wife and I live close by, so we have been here a good amount of times (Including back when it was the Derby) It’s always hit or miss with specific food items but we have kind of narrowed it down to our favorite things on the menu. Tonight (Thursday night trivia) was especially not great. We got a cup of French onion soup- which is usually pretty good. Tonight it was disgusting. It had a bizarre chemical-like aftertaste because of the croutons that were in it. These were unfortunately the same croutons that were on our chicken Caesar salad. Out of our party of 3, two of us had the salad and one of us had the soup- so we all experienced the gross croutons. The croutons made up at least 50 percent of the soup so it was truly inedible even after attempting to pick them out or eat around them. My wife and I finished the salad and pushed all of the croutons to the side- and our friend ended up just eating the chicken off of her salad and leaving everything else. When I brought it to the attention of the server and the other girl that was helping her run the food they advised that they were rye croutons and they had received multiple compliments on them- which is shocking because they tasted burned with a horrible aftertaste. And who puts rye croutons in French onion soup?!?! Regardless, please bring back the normal bread/croutons! The Mac and cheese was still good! But the meal as a whole was the saddest one I...

A great place to get some beer and food after a round of golf at one of the neighborhood golf courses. Lots of screens around the place showing ongoing games, meaning it's a decent place to catch your favorite football (NFL or soccer) team's match. The food was good and the beer tasted awesome coming out of the tap (of course, we were pretty thirsty and hungry after 5 hours of golf, so my opinion could be skewed). Their honey Sriracha wings sauce was yummy and gave a nice burn to complement the cold beer. The fries and tater tots were hot and crispy being fresh made. Definitely worth ordering on their own. The all American Philly that I had was decent, but it was kind of bland. I would have preferred a little more flavor I suppose. The veggie flatbread was well done and very good, a definite recommend. Angie, our hostess, was attentive and kept us updated about our order when it got delayed. The staff were friendly and helpful overall.

In town for business and after hours of trying to figure out what and where I wanted to eat, my search sent me to the Tavern House, for the shrimp and grits. First, let me start with, the staff and customers are friendly! I placed my to go order, had great conversation and traveled back to my room to enjoy my meal. This is my first time having shrimp and grits and I am SOLD! This is hands down one of the best meals I have ever had! Everything is so flavorful; the shrimp are fresh and large; the andouille has just the right bit of spice…I will definitely make this my must have whenever I’m in town. This place is definitely a 10 out of 10 for food and atmosphere. Go check them out - tell them the pergola lady sent you āœŒļø

ā€œThe Tavernā€ is by far THE best kept secret, indeed! My friend suggested we go there for dinner because we live near by and have been wanted to try out someplace new to eat. WOW, say it again WOW, the new owner chose the right chef/cook because everything we ordered was DELICIOUS! We couldn’t stop saying ā€œdamn this is goodā€ over and over again. The portions allowed each of us to take food home to keep enjoying. So run, drive, bike and watch your fave sports on the many tv’s, have a cocktail or 2-3 and enjoy!!! Tell them Maddog and Tanya told you to check the place out !! BTW, the Shrimp and Grits to die for😘
