I expected more from benihana (my mistake). The welcome in was great the host was kind and sat us. However after that service was not good. The waitress took about 5 min to get our drink order, but I think that's normal. She brought the drinks and was helpful with the menu. I ordered a drink from the bar, which took about 15 min to come out. When we ordered the food, I split the plate. However, I ordered extra rice and extra shrimp. The cook finally came out and was not a very good, he kept saying Japanese this Japanese that and was trying to be funny by saying this for you while giving the other poison the ends of the shrimp and pretend passing raw chicken to me, after he scrapped the grill he said to me while putting it in my face want Japanese chocolate. He was very messy with rice flying everywhere and burned the rice, while he was cooking I asked for medium rare on the filet mignon and after I realized he was over cooking it I said I think it's good I'd like it like that he continues to cook it adds butter and takes it to the hottest part of the flat grill and continues once again to cook it, it was well well done after this... Also with the shrimp we added only 8 shrimps were cooked and where cut in half and shared with us 2 and the other 3 guest I don't understand how the shrimp works but I think if I order extra shrimp it should be 10 pieces of shrimp coming to me, plus the extra 3 that come with the meal already. I was pretty upset about this. He also did not give me any mushrooms. Yes, I understand we did spit the chicken and filet mignon plate. However, mushrooms should be split to. I will not be going bacc to this one. I was very upset with the service, also a manager came to me and asked if I wanted icecream and while I was thinking about it he said it comes with the meal as if I couldn't afford it. I think this was because I asked the waitress about the shrimp, which was totally ignored... No...
Read moreParking is plentiful but if you want the prime location parking (directly in front of the entrance) good luck.
For starters, this is a very POPULAR venue for birthdays. Throughout the whole evening they were singing Happy Birthday to multiple tables. It was entertaining and eye-opening to how many people's birthdays there were in that area.
The price point here is very affordable for five and six course meals.
I feel that the ambiance is outdated and that there should be a refresh but that's just my personal opinion.
Edgar was our Hibachi Specialist Destiny was our server
Both were helpful and knowledgeable but I have my gripes.
Edgar served very unseasoned fried rice to us. I absolutely love fried rice! So I know for sure that it generally comes with a taste. I'm not sure if that's what was expected and we were supposed to season to our liking but I didn't like that. I felt that he did a great job of reading us our order but still made mistakes even after clarifying our orders. Everything else prepared by Edgar was phenomenal. The zucchini, the steak, the chicken, the onions, and his presentation was all up to par it was only the fried rice.
Destiny was helpful as well, I just wished she would have let us know we were going to be charged for fried rice. That might have saved me the disappointment. Also there was a charge that was placed on my card that wasn't made by my party. Unfortunately for her as well as myself I didn't notice it at the time of payment. So I take that mistake.
I would definitely come back to this company but maybe not this exact...
Read moreOur office is located in the Sugarland area, and wanted to have a different vibe this year for our office Xmas Dinner. I suggested we come to Benihana's as I've always had a great experience. Boy was I wrong, and embarrassed this time. First red flag was our waiter. I have nothing against new people, but he was all over the place bothering the chef multiple times with questions while cooking. Looking at the chef's face he looked annoyed, but tried to be nice. He got my order wrong, and also never brought my co-workers their steam rice with their meal. My chef never gave me my fried rice, and my waiter was just like oh it's ok I'll grab it from the back. You know the best thing at hibachi is the rice cooked in front of you - FRESH! The waiter grabbed some from the back kitchen, and it wasn't the same. The manager came around, and asked us how was everything. Of course I said the part of the rice. He never apologized, only smiled, and said well we can get it from the back. The issue again with that is not the same! The other people we didn't know also agreed how it was bummer that it wasn't cooked fresh like theirs, and tasted different. I ordered the lobster and filet, and the lobster was too salty, and my filet was OVERCOOKED (I ordered med rare, and got med to well). To have such a bad experience with my meal over $50 plus drinks. No thank you! Never coming back! I will never suggest this place to...
