I placed an order through Uber Eats for a gluten-free wrap when it arrived. It did not look right as both my husband and I are allergic to gluten and have celiac. I called twice to confirm that they had gotten my order right and that it was gluten-free. I spoke to a woman first who told me I could not speak to the manager because he was busy with prayers, but she confirmed that the order was gluten-free after I hung up I looked at it again. It just did not sit right with me. It didn’t look right. I called back and this time I was able to talk to the manager, a man. When I told him that I was calling to confirm that my order was gluten-free that it was prepared properly so that we didn’t get sick. He immediately flew off the handle yelling at me that they don’t have anything gluten-free when I proceeded to try and tell him that Uber Eats has a gluten-free option on there for his restaurant. He got even more angry, almost as if he was taking it personal when I asked him was he even aware of this, and that he needed to contact Uber Eats and fix this because meanwhile, my husband had already started eating and ended up going to the hospital. He instead screams at me and I can hear customers and staff in the background so this is in front of everybody that they don’t have gluten-free and I need to call Uber eats and it’s not his responsibility!!!! I am leaving this review because this is actually the second time something very similar has happened except it wasn’t a safety issue and we didn’t end up in the hospital however, DoorDash and Uber eats have two different menus when I tried to tell him the manager that there was a discrepancy between the two apps he also yelled at me. He is very difficult to communicate with horrible manager and does not care about his business or he would’ve taken this seriously. NO GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS HERE, MENU IS INCORRECT! No more from this restaurant for me anybody that can’t even speak to customers properly does not...
Read morePeri Peri was fantastic! Me and a couple of friends went on a Monday night which enabled us to escape the busy crowd that the restaurant would usually have. Upon looking at the menu we had no idea what to order, rather than rushing us the staff was incredibly patient and gave us recommendations on what to order. We got a crispy pita wrap which was zesty, sweet, and crunchy concoction that balanced perfectly with each ingredient. Although it tasted great, the dish was too small and you would need two orders to be satiated. We also ordered "The Sizzler" which is a sandwich consisting of chicken, onion, and various sauces seasoned with lemon and herbs. The chicken was soft and the sauces made all the ingredients blend together perfectly. Similar to the crispy pita wrap the dish was too small unlike the pita wrap the dish was messy to eat. Additionally we ordered a Mango milkshake however the vanilla flavor overpowered the mango puree. furthermore, we got the 6 count wings that were dripping in peri sauce with a side of peri fries. The wings were steaming and tangy with a hint of spice. The fires however were on the blander side. The last dish we got was the chicken and rice bowl seasoned with Cajun and lemon pepper seasoning, unfortunately the Cajun seasoning completely overpowered the lemon herb and was undetectable. We added the white sauce to the dish, and it perfectly balanced out the meal. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the food, the great staff, and the rustic cozy atmosphere and would definitely...
Read moreI kept reading reviews about Portos Peri Peri online and every time I looked for a new halal place to eat. However, living in the Woodlands, it gets a little difficult to drive all the way down south to try out places like this. I knew I had to make the effort and go here because we heard so much about it.
Upon entering, I was very impressed by the cleanliness and their decor which was a very good first impression for me. I always search for places that keep their facility clean and welcoming for their customers. The girl (Laraib) at the front was extremely kind and helpful when he came to us choosing what to eat because it was our first time there.
We ended up getting a whole chicken in the flavor medium, and six wings in the flavors lemon herb and medium (mixed together). Both items were absolutely mouthwatering and delicious! The chicken was so juicy and tender, the flavors were through the roof, and I did not hesitate to get my hands dirty while eating those wings (especially because they have a handwashing station. WIN!) We also added on two small sides to complete our meal. We chose the Portos rice and steamed vegetables. My husband and I enjoyed every single thing and had leftovers to enjoy later that night.
I must add however, the menu and the items remind me almost exactly of Peri Peri Factory off Westheimer, although they are owned by two different people. Can't...
