So this past weekend some friends of mine and I went in for a birthday party. We requested the server Marissa for our party and Marissa got all the tables together she's always been great which is why we requested her as she's waited on us before. So after her putting together all the tables taking our order and setting up an extra table for the cake, we were informed that Trisha the manager on duty said Marissa couldn't wait on us that Karen and some other girl had to wait on us instead. Problem number 1 if you go somewhere and request a server and you're bringing around 30-40 people why would not listen to your customer? Secondly we requested to close out because we felt bad the Marissa had done all the work and yet even after we requested her were given a different server. And thirdly we asked to speak to a manager and Karen did not even get the manager so we could get the server we wanted. The service was slow as if nothing else the party could have used Marissa and Karen both, she's waited on us before and Marissa has given us the best service we've ever had at this location. To be denied a server we requested for our friends birthday and then during a party that's the most efficient and friendly to wait on us, and then to be ignored by management, not a single manager stopped by to ask if were ok or how anything was or to wish my friend a happy birthday, nobody even welcomed us except Marissa, this is completely unprofessional and I will be calling corporate to find out why the management lacked such professionalism and why after spending so much money we were treated so poorly by the servers except Marissa and then she still came back and checked on us even after they took us from her, that is the kind of servers that keep business, unlike Trisha who I asked to speak with who decided to just not come over or check anything, talk about disrespectful management and lack of management quality, not used to this from a Bar Louis!! We will not be having anymore parties here, and I hope y'all rethink it when reading this review as you can see I make my way around places and only post negative reviews when needed. Rethink this location...
Read moreThere are a handful of chain restaurants and bars that I visit whenever I can and one of them is Bar Louie. I have a Bar Louie location not far from me, but on occasion, I find myself in nearby Sugar Land and in need of food and adult beverages. A place that satisfies my needs is Bar Louie in Sugar Land Town Square.
This Bar Louie location is medium- sized with booths and tables, including high top and low tables. You may also prefer to sit at the bar and, if the weather is right, there is some outdoor seating as well. The atmosphere is generally relaxed, but it can get rather loud during the busier times of the day. It has a somewhat upscale look to it, but it is still casual overall.
With the menu, you will find a nice variety of American- inspired foods, like flatbreads, burgers, and sandwiches; a few larger plates; kids menu; and desserts. Most all of them are worthy of a try, but I tend to go for one of the burgers when I visit here.
With drinks, Bar Louie has a good selection, and this is usually the main reason I choose to visit here as opposed to other establishments. I like any place that has a large number of beer taps and that is exactly what they have here. I do wish the locally- brewed Houston- area beers were more plentiful, but there is still a good deal from which to choose. And if you’re not a beer person, never fear- there is a large variety of liquor and specialty drinks.
I have had good luck with the service at this Bar Louie location, so all is well in that regard. With parking, you are not likely to find an open space right out front- these prime parking locations fill too quickly. You might be able to find another place to park on the street, but many of them are metered. My advice is to park in the free parking ramp and walk. It’s not that far away and you can save money on parking- money that can be used on food and beverages instead.
I have always liked Bar Louie. This location in Sugar Land Town Square is a good stopover for food and beverage. It has the requirements I demand for a bar and grill in a casual yet semi-...
Read moreHad to share this. Worst experience ever. We just came back from this place and we are not happy. I was there with my husband and had dinner and beers. Food was okay. Out waitress was Lindsay. She was great. It seemed like she was the only one actually working tonight . She had multiple tables but she took care of us. This post is about other staff there. We were sitting outside and gentlemen came and sat across us with his dog. We witnessed couple of waitresses came outside and pet the dog and went straight to the bar, kitchen and other guests tables without washing their hands. Both of us have restaurant and hospitality experience and this is unacceptable. We brought this to attention of our waitress and she said that she will inform general manager. One of the people petting the dog was manager itself. We have nothing against the dogs , we love dogs, and the dog was gorgeous. Places that serve food should not have their employees get in contact with pets and food at the same time. After some time "manager" came to the table and asked us if we had a problem and that she heard we were disgusted? First of all I dont believe she was a manager because our waitress pointed to the lady earlier petting the dog as she was the only manager tonight. She did not apologize or share same opinion. She said they all wash their hands after we saw them go around without wash them. She said that they are pet lovers and turn it around on us hating the dog. Well we are pet lovers too, but this is a restaurant and waiters should not touch the dog and my plate,I'm sorry but in my book this is unacceptable. I guess the story spread inside and after that there were few more employeed came out including bartender and pet the dog looking straight at us. We will not be back for sure but this restaurant needs proper employees training and food handling. Kudos to our waitress lindsay for being the only one working hard and not petting the dog and...
