We had a fantastic dinner at Dough Zone in Sugar Land. Our family of six went for dinner and everyone left happy. The place is clean, plenty of seating, and although it was semi-busy, the atmosphere was comfortable and not too loud. Staff was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the whole time.
Ordering is simple and fun. You fill out a paper checklist to mark what you want, and they also have a QR code to view the menu on your phone. We decided to order a variety of dishes to try a little bit of everything.
We had the Dan Dan noodles, which were flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The green onion pancake was crispy and light. Both the spicy beef sandwich and the regular beef sandwich were delicious, each with their own sauce and flavor. The Chinese crepe was a nice change of pace and very enjoyable. The pork xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were a favorite at the table—full of broth and very satisfying. The steamed pork buns had that perfect soft top and crispy bottom. And the pork wontons in chili sauce were a hit, packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat.
Overall, everything we tried was tasty, and the whole experience felt smooth and well run. Between the clean environment, attentive staff, and delicious food, Dough Zone is a great spot for family or friends to enjoy a meal together. Highly recommend the soup dumplings, Q-bao, and Dan Dan noodles, but honestly you can’t go wrong with...
Read moreVery Disappointing Experience
We visited this restaurant and informed the waiter that our child has an egg allergy. He immediately responded, “Every dish has egg, so I guess you’re not eating here,” and walked away. This was both dismissive and unhelpful. We didn’t even get this far in the conversation, but we are not worried about cross contamination of egg, just if it has egg actually in it.
Before coming, we had checked their website, which includes an allergen menu clearly indicating that many dishes do not contain egg. I tracked the waiter down and showed him the information, but he looked annoyed and replied that he had spoken with the manager and once again said everything has egg.
I asked if we could bring in food from Cava next door for our child, and he said “no outside food is allowed.” I mentioned due to allergy and he said no exceptions. I will add, we have eaten at places where her meals were just white rice and steamed veggies, we have always been able to find something, but he was so dismissive. This is the first time ever we have had to leave a restaurant and we eat out multiple times weekly.
If you or anyone in your party has a food allergy or food sensitivities, I strongly recommend avoiding this place. The staff showed no empathy or willingness to accommodate, and their website is either misleading or their team is misinformed and...
Read moreI recently got to try the new Dough Zone that opened up in Sugar Land Town Center! Dough Zone is a dumpling/noodle chain originally from California, and they now have 3 locations throughout the Houston area, including their newest location in Sugar Land.
The interior for this location is modern and beautiful, a perfect environment for a cute date spot (I love the little dumpling baskets as wall decorations!).
I found most of the food the be pretty good quality and affordable as well. Here’s what I ordered:
Scallion Pancake ($3.95) - these were very yummy and crispy, a classic Pork and Shrimp Potstickers ($6.95) - so good, and the bottom crispy part was huge! Beef Steamed Dumplings ($6.95) - these dumplings had high-quality skin and flavorful meat filling Sweet and Sour Cucumber ($6.95) - very unique presentation Beef Stew Noodle Soup ($7.50) - this is such a good deal! it’s a clear broth beef noodle soup, and the beef is super tender -Pan Fried Chive Dumplings (3ct, $6.95) - These were a bit too oily for my taste but still tasted good! Pork Xiao Long Bao (8ct, $8.95) - Overall these were probably my least favorite item I tried. The soup inside the soup dumplings was a...
