Former returning customer that was interested in buying another suit from this JoS. A. Bank location for an upcoming wedding.
However, after my most recent experience, I will not be returning to this location. If you value customer service and equal treatment from their sales associates, then I’d recommend you do as I did and try their competitor on the other side of Town Center Blvd.
On a recent Monday morning, I visited this JoS. A. Bank location around their 10am opening time. For about 10-15min after opening, I browsed as the only customer in the store. Initially, I was not bothered about being ignored by the two male sales associates because I'm someone who enjoys browsing alone.
After browsing and noticing how enthusiastic both were to help two other customers who had arrived after I did, I decided to wait near the front desk for a sales associate to become available. The 1st sales associate to became available told me that he needed to do something in the back room before he could assist me. Later, when the 2nd sales associate finally became available, I approached him to explain what I was looking for. Immediately after he took my measurements, he disappeared without notice to join the other sales associate in the backroom.
Once again, I became the only customer in the store and decided to wait a few more minutes at the front desk for either to return. After more than a few minutes passed, another new customer walked through the door and only then did a sales associate miraculously appear from the backroom to gladly help them while walking past me at the front desk.
I’m a very understanding and patient person that typically gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. However, it was at this point when it became clear that their behavior was no coincidence, and both were making a deliberate effort to avoid assisting me.
In the end, I left this location irritated that I had wasted over 1/2 an hour to be treated so poorly and differently by their...
Read more(BEWARE WARNING) they well switch a ($700 suit) which was on sale for ($300) and switch it for a much more CHEAPER and similar version of that $700 suit as to not lose profit in their inventory. The manager of that store Tim gave me a DISGUSTING hard time at the store as I was explaining to him what had happened. He did give me a full refund of what I had spent in that store. However- before giving me the full refund he insisted I show him the physical receipt which I didn’t have which was strange because the sales person who assisted me who’s name is Phillip- told me very clearly that it didn’t matter if I had the receipt or not because they can easily look it up with my phone number when I had first purchased it. So clearly Tim was just giving me a hard time.
To sum up my experience. FIRST DAY: I go in to the store to look for a suit- picked a dark navy suit which I fell in love the first time I saw it- but they didn’t have my size, so they ordered it for me: SECOND VISIT: I came in to the store because they called me to come and get it fitted (SAME SUIT FROM THE FIRST VISIT) THIRD VISIT: I come in to pick up the suit from the completed fitting ( WHEN I FIRST SAW IT THE THIRD VISIT! IT WAS NOT THE SAME SUIT!!) it was waaaay more darker ( IT LOOKED BLACK!) I could not believe that a location in Sugarland would DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS! YES. I got my money back- but this act is unbelievable UNBELIEVABLE that they do this to the customer- to cheat them for a cheaper version thinking that they can get away with it.
The same day I got the refunded for that scam- I went to the galleria mall and bought a suit with the department store Alberto Cardinali which had the same color suit I fell in love with on the first visit to Jos A Banks in Sugarland, but at a much better price. I hope this review well help future suit shoppers in avoiding this shady business practice from purchase ANYTHING FROM THEM! GOOD...
Read moreMy husband ordered his suit for a wedding about 8 months ago. Well low and behold they wrote his phone # down wrong so they couldn't get ahold of him when the suit arrived (which I understand that happens) but then when my husband would call them (not knowing they had been trying to reach him through a wrong #) and ask for the status of his suit they would come back with "Well we have several suits under that grooms name but we don't know whose has and hasn't come in yet" You mean to tell me you don't write a name next to someone's measurements and the date they ordered to keep track of these things? Seems a bit lazy if you ask me. He then went in about a month ago (once they realized his suit was there) to check if it fit. It did need some alterations so they shipped it back out to get altered and told him it would be ready no later than November 12th (tomorrow). I called today and spoke to Eric and the response I got when I asked when it would be there was "It will PROBABLY be here tomorrow" when I asked if he had any sort of tracking # or way to call and find out for sure, he stated that the place that they got the suits altered was close by in Houston and that it should be there tomorrow. Okay then why cant you pick up the phone and call the place to get an ETA? I am in Sales myself and know first hand how important customer service is. All I have witnessed throughout the entire process with Jos. A Banks is pure laziness. Considering the wedding is this Saturday, all I can hope is that the suit actually arrives tomorrow of even Friday. Because a groomsmen without a suit doesn't exactly go over to well. With that being said, I will NEVER shop here again - this location obviously needs...
