We went to Javed Nihari excited to try it, thinking it would live up to its reviews. The beef nihari was made with tough stew meat, not traditional nihari cuts like bong. When we gave feedback, the staff said bong meat is only available by request. Nihari should come with nihari meat not stew meat with an optional upgrade.
I honestly donât understand how they have these reviews. Iâm a nihari connoisseur, and I can confidently say this was not nihariâit was more like beef korma with a sprinkle of Nihari masala.
The chicken biryani was also stale, and the chicken didnât taste fresh. No one at our table touched it. The only decent thing was the naan.
To top it off, we werenât given a receipt and had no idea gratuity was already added. I tipped an extra $10 on top of that. For a self-service setup, thatâs not okay.
We were the only ones in the restaurant and shouldâve taken that as a sign. Sadly, we wonât be returning.

Thank you for your response, but unfortunately it feels quite generic and doesnât address the core concerns I raised.
We traveled from out of town and were genuinely looking forward to the meal. What we were served was not authentic Nihari, it was stew meat, dry and tough, not the traditional bong cut that defines a proper Nihari experience. Expecting customers to know to request bong meat is unreasonable, especially for a signature dish. If thatâs your policy, there should be a clear sign posted at the counter.
Additionally, you completely overlooked my feedback regarding the chicken biryani, which was stale and inedible. No one touched it, and that should never happen at any restaurant, let alone one that prides itself on taste and quality.
Lastly, the automatic gratuity added without notice especially for a self-service setup felt misleading, and we werenât even given a receipt to review the charges.
We wonât be returning, but I do hope you take this feedback seriously to improve transparency and food quality for...
Read moreI would give them zero stars if i could. This place is a SCAM! We were overcharged and when I pointed it out the guy at the counter who I believe was the owner changed his story several times. He charged us a large party fee for 4 people. When asked what is considered a large party he stated 6. So we asked then why was a large party fee charged... he then proceeded to say it's for 4 people or more. Told us we were confusing him bc we were asking questions. WHAT???He also charged us for a nihari we did not purchase. When I asked him for the receipt he stated his printer did not work. After requesting a receipt several times he texted one to me. My husband (who was not with me) called and asked why we were overcharged and he proceeded to tell him in America we charge a gratuity which is what that fee was. My husband let him know the receipt states a large party fee. He told us we didn't understand gratuity in America! Which is different from a tip. Then told us he would return the fee as it was a mistake. We also let him know we were charged for a nihari we did not receive. (We also ordered items "to go"). We have checked our credit card statement all week. He DID NOT refund us the overcharged amount and when we called several times we were told the "guy" that can help is not available and then hung up on. I would AVOID this place by all means if you don't want to be...
Read moreFrom the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance promised an authentic experience, and the aromas wafting through the air were inviting. I decided to order their signature dishes, Nihari and Paya, accompanied by what many have claimed to be the best naan in town. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
The Nihari was rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, melting in my mouth with every bite. The Paya, with its tender meat and exquisitely spiced broth, was a delight, showcasing the depth of traditional cooking at its finest. The naan, fresh from the tandoor, was the perfect companion to these dishesâsoft, fluffy, and slightly charred, it was indeed the best Iâve ever had.
But what made my dining experience truly memorable was the service. The staff went above and beyond, ensuring every need was met with a smile and that each guest felt welcomed and valued. Their recommendations were spot on, enhancing our meal with their expert knowledge of the menu.
In conclusion, this restaurant is a gem that offers not just food, but an experience to be savored. Whether youâre a lover of Nihari and Paya or looking to explore the best of traditional cuisine, paired with impeccable service and the warmest of welcomes, this is...
