I like the food - generally speaking, but the service is hit or miss. The other thing is the utensils and high chairs and just tables/ chairs in general are not clean. I wish they would take sometime to clean the little things that make a huge difference. Today was our 3rd time going and we were 5 adults and 3 kids. Only the kids and one adult ordered food, the rest of us ordered drinks. The server added 18% gratuity to the table. Typically this is fine but service was lacking this time. We had to keep asking for high chairs from multiple people before being able to get two. When they brought them they were filthy. Trying to get the waiter to bring a hot rag or something clean them with was impossible because the waiter would come and go quickly without asking if we needed anything else. They never brought waters. Repeat drink orders were never brought out. I asked for spicy salsa, which the waiter said he could bring me habanero salsa which I agreed. He brought 2 small bowls which I later learned were $2.50 each. I wish they would have mentioned that before hand as I would have ordered one to try first, especially since it was too acidic and inedible. The heat was the but again top acidic like some of the peppers were bad or something. The other complaint was the margaritas. For 12.99 and 13 99 for skinny, they are overpriced for the quality. The kids meal - chicken taco tortilla was overcooked and crispy so the kids would not eat it. The fries were over cooked. The beef fajitas were good. I'm not sure we'd come back to this location, I believe the service and consistency at the Stafford location is much better. I really think this place has a lot of potential but they need to do a little cleaning, improve service, and really rethink some of the prices. The big plus is the playground for the kids. The are very few places here in sugar land that have this as a feature. A little greenery in the back by the lake and a little powerwash and paint in certain areas in the neck including gazebo will go a long way. And for b the hot summer days something to help cool the area either a mist system or fans that...
Read moreThis is our new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Sugar Land / Richmond area! The location is a bit difficult to get to; the entrances are from the southbound TX-99 turn-in at Memorial Hermann Hospital, or off the US-59/I-69 Westbound feeder road. Once in the shopping center, plenty of parking. The building is beautiful; high ceilings, generous seating & floor space (even with a full house it never feels cramped), and surprisingly quiet; its possible to have an intimate conversation among the table without having to shout over other patrons or the music. The staff is extremely polite, professional, and possibly the most attentive group of servers in the greater Houston area. Our drinks never run dry, our appetizers and entrees arrive hot and delicious, and we never have to look around to find someone to ask anything; by the time we look up to even start, they're already at the table asking if there is anything they can do. The most important part, the food, is absolutely amazing. Perfectly seasoned, generously portioned, and presented beautifully. Unlike most Mexican restaurants in the area, I don't feel like the kitchen doubles as a salt mine; none of us has complained of over-salted food. The entrees are sized where two adults can easily share, and the "for two" portions should say "for two families." I highly recommend the Pollo Del Mar & Beef/Chicken/Shrimp Fajitas. The salsa is really good, and the tableside guacamole is fixed to taste (we add lots of lime, but that's how we like it), but the queso is nothing special; velveta with chopped jalapeno. The salsa is great, excellent flavor; we pay to bring a pint home with us. The bar is very heavy-handed with the alcohol on the mixed drinks & margaritas; plan accordingly. The entrees are slightly more expensive than other Mexican restaurants in the area, say $2-3 per item more, but the quality and quantity easily justify the...
Read moreI’ve only been in this place couple of times. I never go often because my experience isn’t that good every time I go. However, I always give it a try again thinking it’s just not my day. I called earlier that morning to make reservations for 13 people and they accepted even asking for my name and phone number. I got in the restaurant with my family stood for almost 20 minutes and no one was in the front to greet guests so we and the families behind us weren’t sure who to ask. Every time a waiter or waitress would come close to us, we would ask but the answer we would get is I DONT KNOW JUST WAIT!! Finally, I approached this lady, I asked her if there is somebody we can talk to about seating. She just smirked and said well your name isn’t here. I said I called but she said you’re not here. Mind you, their reservation log is a bunch of post its so there is a big possibility they lost it. I’m an honest person and I did call!! Why would I lie?!! I knew it was a Saturday and seating would be difficult. I was willing to wait but they didn’t even offer me to be wait listed. They just said nobody’s leaving so I can’t take you in. Uhmmmm!!! You are in a hospitality business... you need to be nice and accommodating... all we needed was an apology and at least offer us to be wait listed. I asked her to wait list us, but she even hesitated to list us down. HORRIBLE!!! UPSETTING!! Good thing there are much better restaurants and better service somewhere else. I usually don’t comment but I felt we weren’t treated right. It was a SATURDAY I understand but learn to handle busy situations...
