This used to be my go-to McDonaldâs since their shiny Grand Reopening. They had it all: quick service, hot food, and a drive-thru that didnât feel like a DMV line. But recently? This place fell off harder than a McFlurry machine in July.
I placed my mobile order from homeâjust two steak bagels, a hash brown, and an iced coffee. Nothing fancy. Seven minutes later, Iâm at the drive-thru speaker with the app already bragging âYour order is ready!â Lies. All lies.
I sat in line for 20 minutes behind cars ordering breakfast for the entire cast of Fast & Furious. But hey, I figured my little bagel-and-coffee combo was chillinâ by the window, waiting to be handed to me like a promise kept. Wrong again.
I finally get to the window andâsurprise!âno iced coffee. They asked me to pull up to that cursed Window #3, which should honestly be renamed the âForgotten Souls Waiting Area.â All for one iced coffee. Not a frappĂŠ, not a custom barista masterpiece just a basic iced coffee. I could literally see a full staff inside, including a manager pacing around like she was auditioning for The Sims. Zero urgency. Zero logic.
Why bother having a mobile app that says âorder readyâ if itâs still being made while I age in the drive-thru? This wasnât a catered wedding. It was two bagels and some caffeine. Three minutes later, I got my coffeeâcold and annoyedâand drove off, now late to work because McDonaldâs wanted to roleplay as a fine dining experience.
This location has potential, but right now? Itâs all vibes, no execution. If chaos was a franchise, this spot would be...
Read moreEDIT: 4/18/2016 I raised my review from one star to four stars tonight. The weather is terrible, my power is out at home and I've had a rotten day. The lady working the drive thru was so nice to me, she really cheered me up. My order was correct and the whole experience caused me to edit my review after what happened one week ago. Keep up the good work! 4/11/2016: I drove off tonight, because the drive through was taking a ridiculously long time. It is always slow at this location, but it was ridiculous tonight. When I pulled up, there were 2 cars ahead of me. One was already in front of the order screen. About 6 minutes later, he pulled ahead. I thought the lady in front of me was taking an exceptionally long time to order. I rolled down my window. She was still waiting to begin the order process. Every time she would say excuse me, the employee would say, "I said I'll be with you in a minute." At that point, there were at least 5 cars behind me, and a couple of them were shouting obscenities at the lady in front of me, trying to get her to hurry up. It wasn't the lady's fault. Absurd. I did not want to be there when the drunken people behind me decided to get out of their cars. Quite ridiculous indeed, that "...a minute", is actually more like 10 minutes. Management? Franchise ownership? Correct this ludicrous...
Read moreThis is a privately owned Mcdonald's, so the coffee was a little more expensive, but the people working there were fantastic, and very very friendly & I spent a very leisurely Sunday there. This is a nice area and I enjoy hanging out here once in awhile because there's a lot of police SUVS & policepersons that stay in the parking lot behind there, so there could be a police precinct there, but I'm not quite sure... But it's a really nice place to frequent & I also go to the Planet Fitness behind there as well, which for some reason didn't show up on the map here, I Dk why, but it's all between & across the street from the Walmart, & HEB & Fiesta is behind there too. Side note, on this Sunday, BOTH the Fiesta AND the HEB, THE ATMS DID NOT WORK!!! đđ¤Śđžââď¸đ˘ AS far as the McDonald's went, everything there was GREAT, inside & out & the bathroom too! Below, They didn't offer the options: we had both lunch & dinner there and the McChicken sandwiches and spicy ones too with Fries, Sr. coffees earlier and Sr. Teas & sodas later...no personal drink machines, but they served us well with very...
