This hotel is a dirty place with rude, hostile staff. Stayed here for a few months until our other accomodation was ready. Firstly, the building is unkept: floors unmopped, a foul odor of urine, etc. is always on every floor, the breakfast area is completely unsanitary as no one is there to maintain it, BEDBUGS; water fountains, ice machine (only the one on the first floor works), and elevator is usually covered in trash and never wiped down. Trash in the parking lot and around the property, twice had a sewage spill which was never cleaned up, one of which left visible human feces in the parking lot. The hotel just recently ended a severe roach infestation, and the carpets in the hallways and stairwells, which are almost never vacuumed, was cleaned a month ago, and is now slightly dingy rather than black like before. Walls have mysterious stains, the hallways are filthy. Linen always has hair wrapped around it, is severely stained, and discolored. At the time of this comment, the maids don't have a functional broom, and their 'mop' is a half-eaten broom covered with a towel - both unsanitary and unprofessional.
Secondly, service: speaking of maids, they're extremely hostile and with the exception of one, refuse to communicate with you in English, despite how most know English. A maid pressed dirty, bleach soaked towels into my back suddenly and destroyed one of my favorite shirts. Despite being a Diamond Level member, the highest membership level possible with Wyndham, and giving thousands to this property specifically, the maids gave us a toilet paper limit of one roll per day and one maid in particular, Jaquelin, would complain to the other maids in Spanish if we asked for anything else. Room renovations started three months ago, and still haven't been completed. The construction crew left the room covered in trash and sawdust, stripped away all linen, even clean linen, and kicked our clean clothes onto the floor and into a corner. We had to clean the room ourselves, as the maids refused to service the room. The next day, the crew again entered the room because someone had broken the lock, and didn't apologize. The old furnishings are outside the hotel in the parking lot, getting rotten and molded from months of sitting out in the rain and heat, making the entire premises look like a dump. It also took over two weeks to get the door lock fixed, despite the maintenance man, Bobby, living on property. There was a fire one night, and all the lights were off for almost two days, and we were denied a discounted or complimentary night. A woman was walking around on property naked from the waist down all day one day, and the front desk worker did nothing despite complaints; the cops never came. Rooms are missing things; ours was missing an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, coffee machine, and wall light in the restroom. WiFi is virtually nonexistent.
While all staff are rude and condescending, Ludwig gives the worst customer service. He's notorious for calling the cops on guests for late checkouts. He will raise his voice at you out of frustration, talk to you as if you were his child, rolls his eyes, and once complained because he didn't like our payment method. The manager, Mr. Patel, doesn't care about customer loyalty, what membership level you have attained, or providing a pleasant experience. This property is filled with health violations, lack of basic cleanliness, and uncouth personnel, including both front desk staff and housekeeping. No one acknowledges their mistakes or apologizes. This hotel is completely unacceptable and a poor representation of the Wyndham brand; it needs to be shut down immediately. Knowing that Wyndham allowed this property to be on its website...
Read moreI feel the need to raise a serious warning to anyone considering this hotel. My experience was beyond unacceptable. Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston / West Energy Corridor is in a state of neglect, filth, and decay, and absolutely not worth your money or peace of mind.
Filthy hallways and nauseating smells: From the entrance to the second floor where I stayed, the carpets are filthy, soaked with bad smells, and clearly havenât been vacuumed in ages. Trash, worn clothes, paper cups, even garbage bins are left right in front of room doors and near the elevators. On my floor, garbage bins were piled up in a corner, as if I were in a back alley â not a hotel.
Presence of animals despite restrictions: Dogs barked loudly in the hallways, even though pets are supposedly not allowed. The smell and noise made it feel like they had relieved themselves on the carpets.
The room itself â dirty and unprepared: I arrived at 1:00 p.m. and was told the room wasnât ready (despite check-out being at noon). When I finally got in, the room was still dirty and uncleaned. There were animal hairs on the armchair, no bedside tables, lamps sitting directly on the floor, and furniture visibly broken or missing. Even the headboard above the bed was removed, leaving dirt and marks on the wall.
Bathroom in unacceptable condition: The hairdryer was broken and scorched, sink and tub drains were missing, and black stains were visible inside the toilet. The showerhead was covered in thick limescale buildup, showing zero cleaning effort.
Malfunctioning infrastructure: The elevator often malfunctioned â you press the button, it pretends to move, but youâre still on the same floor. Windows throughout the building were dirty, smeared, and covered in dead bugs.
Exterior of the hotel â an eyesore: Between parked cars there were trash bins, old bottles, scattered waste, and a rusty abandoned bus next to the building. It looked more like a dump than a hotel.
Lobby chaos and fake renovation excuse: At the front desk, boxes are stacked everywhere. They claim this is for renovation â but nothing shows that any work is being done. These boxes look like theyâve been sitting there for months.
Final conclusion: This place is not a hotel â it feels like a temporary shelter or halfway house. I saw people exiting rooms like they live there full-time. Itâs unsanitary, loud, poorly managed, and overall disturbing. Avoid this hotel at all costs. Even at a low rate, itâs a complete waste of money. Donât be fooled by the photos or listings â I urge anyone reading this to...
Read moreMy sheets were dirty upon entering and there were no bath towels. When I called for more I was advised to bring down the old set of sheets for a fresh set, and so I did. I was handed two flat sheets, 2 towels and a twin size fitted sheet. I tried making the bed myself but, Of course, the twin size fitted sheet didnât fit the full size bed. I let it slide and made the bed with the two flat sheets instead and then I realized that I had no blanket. I sent my boyfriend down for one because I needed to have a blanket to sleep but the guy at the front desk refused to give us a blanket saying âI already gave her oneâ. A bold faced lie, it was. He did not give me a blanket That was it. I had to pack up and leave.
The headboard had fingerprints all over it. The desk chair had some weird white substance on it and so did the couch. The couch had pet hair on it also. Anything in this room that could be dirty, was DIRTY. Had I not known better I would have believed this was a motel on the infamous Bissonnet stroll. Donât stay here. Youâll probably end up taking home some tiny crawlies, if youâre not careful. I wouldnât wish this place on my worst enemy.
Also, I reserved a room with a King sized bed but got a full size instead. Only in the tiny world of Thumbalina would this tiny bed be passed off as a King.
I WILL NEVER EVER STAY HERE AGAIN. Read the reviews! Believe the reviews! This is a hotel that doesnât have blankets or basic cleaning supplies How? Make it make sense!!!
Oh, I saw the maid cleaning the room. Dude didnât have a vacuum, nor a towel. Just a mop, bucket, broom and trash bag. Where was the cart that holds the towels, blankets, vacuum, cleaning chemicals. If I donât contract something after my stay here, Iâd be...
