I placed a GRUBHUB order with them: 2 (L) soups of the day 1 hamburguesa callejera 1 carne asada 4 empanadas 1 blackberry juice 1 sugarcane drink
My son ate the hamburger and said that it was really good. He later had the carne asada š¤¦š¼āāļø
There was MORE lettuce and tomato slices than MEAT! It was two tiny little pieces, and a baby cup of rice š
We didnāt get the blackberry juice, and got a weird tasting one (Iām Colombian), and I still donāt know what that was.
The soups⦠again, Iām Colombian, and Iāve never seen a soup where the ENTIRE potato is in the soup, and not cut in pieces. Mind you, that this was a HUGE potato. The ½ green plantain was all weird looking, as if it sat already peeled in the air which it got that blackish colorā¦
Then thereās the chicken 𤢠I opened ONE soup the day we got the order, and saw this big piece of chicken, and the skin looked so gross. I took it off and proceeded to cut the chicken⦠I get that we have to RIP the chicken in order to eat it, what I was NOT expecting was to see that the last days of this chicken were atrocious!!!
It was completely pink! And not as in not cooked, but as in the meat was soooo saturated with blood and bruised that it was disgusting to eat it.
I cut the big plantain and the huge potato, and the chicken (see the videoā¦) but thereās NO WAY anyone could eat a chicken like that.
It almost looked as if they bought the chicken else kinda cooked and just dumped it in the soup.
BOTH soup containers were the same way.
Not ordering...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNo pictures for this review because sadly they werenāt worthy. Iām always on the look out for Colombian restaurants so I have tried a couple in the area already, this one wasnāt good at all. The service was fine, nothing wrong with this, all the people were very nice, but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. We had two empanadas (we love empanadas) but even when they were āhomemadeā which is hard to find, they basically have no meat at all š¤¦š»āāļø, it was all potatoes; I had a mango juice in milk and all I could taste was the milk, not much of the mango part. My boyfriend had the churrasco (16oz) and it wasnāt good meat, it was a bad cut of meat and we asked for medium rare, well it was very over cooked, the (what it seem to be chimichurri) was very disgusting (Iām sorry but canāt find another word for it), it tasted like pickles and vinegar. I had the cazuela de Mariscos, which it wasnāt too bad, the broth of the soup was very good, I had a hard time was with the fake crab that was in the soup, which it was too much and I personally donāt like the flavor of it. So we wonāt be coming again but hope they improve their food in the future. But we discovered an amazing ice cream place next to the restaurant so at least the drive there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to be a frequent customer. The food was balanced and well prepared, typical colombian food that can make you feel like home in a foreign country but today, and last time I came, the soup was salty, the waitress tried to justify this with the time of the day (what does time have to do with salt?! š) Anyways, as you can see in the pictures, more than the rice being mushy and the plantains overcooked, the thin layer of meat in the "chuleta" š¤Æš±... come on! The restaurant has adopted a policy of "food out of the kitchen, food charged for" even if the food does not meet expectations. So, if this restaurant is still owned by Mr. "Pinocho" I have admired you for so long and hope you take my comment to revise any standards that might fall through the cracks. I put a lot of lemon on the soup to disipate the salt, and the "chuleta was ate because, as we say in our country, con hambre... cualquier cosa se come, aun las que no...
