Timmy Chan’s — Restaurant in Texas

Please understand this company is known and continues to stay in business because of minorities. Yet I have a visit like I had yesterday at drive thru where i pull up and the menu is down so you don’t know what’s on menu unless you know it. Then there are cars backing up all the way so after they order you can’t order because you can’t get in front of speaker. And because the drive thru worker is so ignorant she immediately goes off on me after taking to the previous order bumper for 5 minutes. Then acts impatient with me because she is incoherent and clearly not examining her drive thru!! I refused to order and put that drive thru worker in her place. Don’t want to work don’t!! Can’t afford not to work? Then remember your purpose for working and do your damn job!!! This location is the worst in Houston and sticks out like a sore thumb in that area from a scenery perspective. Want to visit a makeshift Timmy CHAN’S this...

When the nice person hands you the order, don't be foolish just because it's a takeout box. You better take it with both hands because it's heavy :) They have a huge menu- All the flavors are strong, they give a lot of food. If you don't like it, it's because you ordered wrong. Teriyaki wings were bold, lemon pepper where tasty, general Joe had some kick too.

If you have multiple ordered I recommend getting both fried and steamed rice for balance. I really like the curry chicken, mild but flavorful.

Bonus, they serve kool-aid here! When you walk in the door you're ready to eat when the aroma of fried crispy chicken and sweet kool-aid hit you.

I have loved Timmy Chan's since I was a kid (long time) and I have tried quite a few of them from the one in South Park to the ones all throughout the southwest and Alief. This one is pretty good. On my last trip I got 6 wings with Timmy fried Rice (combo) and 6 legs with Chicken fried rice. The drumsticks were a little on the tough/chewy side like they had been refried to warm them up, I'm just speculating about that, but I have refried leftover chicken before and that's what those drumsticks reminded me of. The rice was good. I gave the atmosphere a 3 because it was hot as heck in there...lol Houston is too hot to not have AC...
