I arrived at about 7:00PM on Sunday, March 30. It took about 45 minutes to get seated as they were very busy and we were a party of 6.
Here is everything we ordered. The chicken katsu was mediocre nothing special. Steak hibachi was pretty good if you like beef, sauce complimented it well. Miso soup did not meet expectations, tasted store bought. Rainbow roll was good, fresh and well made. The trust me baby roll was very good, eel sauce paired well with the fish, definitely recommend it. The spider hand roll was good, the crab was cooked well but could use a little more seasoning and crisp. The red lobster rolls were really good too, everything went well together. The Oma roll was not great. It had a weird aftertaste and didn’t have much good flavors. The ikura was good, nicely made. The sashimi was good tastes fresh. The Kobe beef was full of flavor, but it was a very chewy. Seared scallop was seared enough to provide seared flavor. Caterpillar roll was good too. Would recommend to try. The ika salad was good, would recommend if you like it. Calpi came out sizzling and was also pretty good, recommend it. Takoyaki was great, crispy on the outside soft on the inside, recommend it. Seared salmon was ok, exactly as expected. Fish balls were pretty good, not too salty well seasoned. I recommend it if you like fishballs. Godzilla and LSU were okay. Mona Lisa wasnt great didn’t have much flavor. Finally the honey roll was really good, I definitely recommend it, it had a nice balance of flavor and sweetness.
In the end, this place had good AYCE sushi and I recommend trying the steak hibachi, the trust me baby roll, red lobster rolls, caterpillar roll, ika salad, Calpi, takoyaki, fishballs, and definitely the honey roll. Service was good but could have been better, for dessert we had ice cream but they only had vanilla, chocolate, and red bean. Ice cream wasn’t bad but was disappointed as they said they had strawberry and green tea as well.

Read moreMy two sisters and I went to Oma Thursday night for dinner. The hostess was very kind and we were seated right away. The problem started when our server came to our table to get our order. We started off with 10 pieces of salmon sashimi for the entire table and he immediately pointed out that they had a new policy which restricted the number of sashimi per person to 10 per order. We were way below the limit but it seemed like he was stopping us from ordering any more. He also had a straight, annoyed look on his face the entire time and felt like he was trying to rush us out the restaurant. Overall the dinner service was slow considering the restaurant was quite empty at the time but the food was good. The next problem was at dessert. My sisters and I got "scoop" of ice cream which looked more like half a scoop so we asked the server if we could get another scoop of ice cream. He immediately dismissed us and said that the ice cream was limited to 1 scoop per person. This was annoying to hear mostly because we saw another table get two scoops of ice cream and were able to order twice. This also defeated the concept of "all you can eat" because we paid almost $45 each after tax and tip and felt like we deserved more even if it was just a another scoop of ice cream. I first went to OMA when it first started out with just AYCE on weekends and had an amazing experience, but it seems like the service and quality keeps going down. I also spoke with a few friends and coworkers who also had similar problems with the service at OMA lately, so I will not be coming back even though the food and menu is amazing compared to most sushi restaurants in the area. Also before any manager or team member responds to this review by telling me I should have told a manager during our visit, just know that most people (like myself) do not like confrontation. I hate to leave bad reviews and I hate it even more to ruin my family's dinner by asking to speak to a manager. Hopefully my review is taken as constructive criticism so other customers do not have to face...
Read moreWe came for my birthday dinner/lunch. We went around 3:45 and there wasn’t many people dining in from what we could see. There were three people at the host stand when we walked in and we stood there while they talked amongst themselves for a few minutes about another person (who we assumed was a coworker) that would crash out if we were placed in their section. Once we sat down our server was nice took our drink orders and put in our first order of food. The food came rather quickly but not all at once which I liked. The sashimi and nigiri were amazing. Our favorites were the Kobe, scallop, and salmon belly nigiri. After we were finished with our first order we started looking for our server as we hadn’t seen them since we placed the order. We waited almost an hour before finally stopping the only server who seemed to be working on the first floor and asking if he knew where our server may be. He later told us that he had already clocked out for the day. He ended being our server for the rest of the night and apologized multiple times for the experience. It wasn’t his fault and we really just felt bad he was put into that situation. During the entire hour we waited we saw a shift change, servers standing around on their phones or talking amongst themselves. We tried getting anyone’s attention without having to get up and tap them on the shoulders and it proved to be impossible.
Kyle was the server we saw working and finally stopped to ask about our missing server. He was great and served us for the rest of the night and definitely saved what was a confusing and frustrating experience. I think for both your customers and employees experience, there should be some better organization or training in service. I can’t imagine how stressful it would be to suddenly be put into an awkward situation bc your coworkers dropped the ball. Even the person, who we assumed was a manager or supervisor, walked past us multiple times and didn’t stop to...
