Spectators Bar & Grill - Lake Pointe — Restaurant in Sugar Land

We went to the Sugar Land location on Sunday 5/4/2025. We were served by the girl with the grey hair and dark roots. It took 15 minutes for menus. After the food arrived, it took another 10 minutes before I got annoyed and went inside to get salt, ketchup and napkins. She said she was going to bring those so I told her the food was getting cold. The table behind us sat with closed menus for at least 15-20 minutes! We met the GM - she was very nice, and towards the end of our meal, we saw her pitching in some, but it was too late. The waitress did lack experience, she was trying to service about 8 tables by herself, and the restaurant was not set up efficiently for her success. She has to go inside to the far end of the bar to get beverage refills, condiments, etc. There should be a sliding window outside by the indoor bar where soda and water pitcher refills are kept. A second window where all the condiments and salt/pepper are kept for her. Someone inside should pick up the meals from the kitchen and deliver them to this sliding window (of the future)so she doesn't have to go inside for them. We sat with empty drink glasses for at least 15 minutes. When she finally does come over and we ask for refills, she takes our glasses inside to refill instead of just bringing fresh drinks. AND they were 50% ice! I mentioned to her that she should put less ice in the future, but she was not very receptive. I am going to give this place 5 stars, not because we had a perfect experience, but how the issues were handled. Lets give some context. I was Friday night at 7pm to start. The place was busy inside and very loud. Lots of TVs, lot of people drinking. I would for surr add some acoustic dampning on the ceiling and walls. We opted to sit outside on the patio as it was a very nice night. We ordered a round of drinks to start, this is a full servkce bar. After we got drinks we ordered food. Pretzels as app, 2 burgers, and a grilled chicken sandwich. Burgers came out before pretzel, told waitress to cancel pretzel, however pretzel came out. The burgers were cooked perfectly but one was missing cheese. Grilled chicken sandwich was dry and only got two bites eaten. I assume the manager came out, umprovoled, not sure who they were as they did not introduce themselves, and without asking said they were got to credit the pretzel. They came back a bkt later and noticed the griled chicken sandwich wasnt eaten anf offered to take care lf that. We insisted that was a chance order and was ok paying for it. Bill came and there was some credit for the chicken sandwich. The patio is the place to be starting this time of year. TVs, pass through bar, on waterway and lots of wildlife roaming. We really liked the place and will return hopefully with an even better experience. Overall all the food looked great and tasted great. I’d give it 5 stars except it depends on when you go whether it’s 5 stars or 2…they have it 1/2 right with their management. The female manager (Jamie or Jackie) is a beast! Friendly and she’s physically everywhere! Cleaning tables, delivering food, behind the bar (I’ve seen her washing glassware many times), and if you ask her for something she does it or gets it IMMEDIATELY as if you are her #1 priority! The guy manager….Wally…nice guy, but he seems mentally everywhere tbh. He took our order and then our waitress Angel came over and took our order not 5 minutes later. Apparently he never put our order in the computer so we just reordered from her. She was fantastic! But the management on duty plays a HUGE role and it shows everywhere! The same employees are in much friendlier moods when she’s the manager and I can understand why. I’m in the industry (have been for years) and it’s something I’ve noticed over the last month that we’ve been coming here. Love the vibe on Fridays with the dj! Food is 10/10 every time!
