Bab's Delta Diner — Restaurant in Suisun City

3 stars because the food is always delicious. However, I'm not sure what happened today. I am a former server/bartender (over 15 years) AND still a Suisun resident. I walk to Babs for breakfast. I came in and asked to be sat, "table for 2." My mother was coming also. I was told my WHOLE party had to be here to be sat, so one other person had to show up to be sat. There were about 4 or 5 completely empty tables, but really no issue, I know restaurants have their rules. "Ok, I'll wait." I go outside and a woman walks in by herself, I think nothing of it really, then car after car drives up, of course, its BABS! About 10 minutes later another woman walks up solo, and that grabs my attention. I wait, she never comes out. Hmmmmm....I walk in and she is sitting at a table with the first woman I saw walk up after me, ALONE, and there are 3 water cups on their table. Now I have an issue! I think, wasn't that woman waiting for her whole party? I stand by the door and no one says a thing to me until I finally say, to the same girl, "Since they're waiting for their whole party, can I sit down?" "Oh, yeah, sure. grab a table"

I go and find my own table, no one seating me. For HER to be irritated with ME was surprising. Please train the people who greet guests to treat everyone the same.

What was the point of that? If you are slammed and in the weeds, I completely understand waiting. But to let the very next person walk in, sit and wait for a party of 3 to show up? I should also mention the 2 men sitting solo when I came in again, who were waiting for their guests. I was a bit confused with this situation. That was not a great experience and I've been coming...

Used to be the best place in town food has change and service seems just ok not an extreme awesome they way it used to be I haves come here for a while I'm assuming new ownership we came in on a monday which is nice because it used to be closed on mondays but I probably will not drive from napa again i can get average breakfast like this at denny's or black bear napa not bad but not what used to be ... UPDATE 10 31 23 seems they got new employees and faster service very Friendly food still awesome clean place only bad thing is there is list of Flys around but otherwise much better UPDATE JULY 12 2024 we have not been here for a while place looks semi renovated lots more tables and lots of servers working around the area unfortunately we landed on Shelby's table she was nice but not very fast seems to get lost a lot and their coffe mug are a lot smaller now so you really need to refill a lot to stay warm maybe she didt know she seemed to have a lot of tables and constantly see her in the corner or elsewhere we tried to get her attention but she didt look this way much even when walking by us I had to get up and get napkins and very tempted to grab my own coffee table was a bit sticky and the syrup Jar had napkins stuck to it and very sticky as well so we had to wait until she decided we were done and brough me my check and offered boxes just to learn we needed coffe and syrup to continue our meal we even put our mugs right to the edge of thw table sonic anyone walked by they may nottice but I'm reality no one really pay much attention to anything other than whatever was in their mind so not really great FOOD WAS...

Unfortunately, the quality has gone down. I went to Bab's this weekend to get some yummy pancakes, and boy was that a mistake. We were seated outside, with no room to pull the seat from the table without displacing the people seated next to us. Not detoured, we sat and reviewed the menu. The waitress was kind and prompt. She asked what we wanted to drink, and we had water brought to the table. The "mugs" the water came in were old and discolored. They're supposed to be clear but are dingy, giving the appearance of not being clean. The water had a foul taste. We ordered the pancakes, and they came to the table promptly. Just from the appearance, I knew they wouldn't be good. They were not light and fluffy, and geez-Louise were they overcooked. The scorched exterior of the pancakes gave them a horrible aftertaste. I couldn't finish mine. The bacon wasn't memorable either; it was just greasy and flavorless. If I'm going to have a heart attack from eating bacon, at least it can taste good. Last was the catsup; I didn't have it, but the look on my partner's face as she ate the eggs with what can only be described as rancid catsup was priceless. I don't know what happened to Bab's, but "It's a no for me, Dawg."

If Bab's is looking at this review, please consider this a gift and an opportunity to improve. You had something special and lost it. Now, it's time to recapture that specialness. In your rush to churn out food and get people in quickly, you lost what is important: good quality food. I didn't beat you up on price, though you know I could have, but I'm all in if your employees are being paid a fair wage.
