I recently visited Los Altos with high hopes for a delightful Mexican meal, but what I experienced was nothing short of a culinary horror show.

Upon entering, the atmosphere was suffocating – a mix of stale chips and something I can only describe as a blend of regret and despair. The decor looked as if it hadn't been updated since the 1980s, and the flickering lights added an unsettling ambiance that made me question my life choices.

The service? Let's just say it was eerily silent, as if the staff had taken a vow of silence. After finally flagging down a server, I ordered the enchiladas, expecting a burst of flavor. Instead, I was served a plate that looked like it had been thrown together by a blindfolded chef in a hurry. The sauce was a bizarre shade of gray, and the cheese had an unsettling, rubbery texture that sent shivers down my spine.

As I took my first bite, I was greeted with a flavor that can only be described as “what nightmares are made of.” It was a medley of blandness and a hint of something that tasted suspiciously like it had been left out in the sun for too long. My dining companion's tacos were equally horrifying, filled with what appeared to be mystery meat that left us both questioning our decisions.

To top it all off, I found a hair in my food that looked suspiciously like it belonged to a creature from the underworld. When I brought it to the manager's attention, he simply shrugged, as if this was a common occurrence.

In short, if you value your taste buds and your sanity, steer clear of Los Altos. My experience was a frightful reminder that not all Mexican food is created equal. I left the restaurant haunted by the flavors of despair and regret, and I can confidently say I will...

The food was good, but only 3 stars because of the service. They were very slow and it wasn't even a busy night when we went, cant even imagine what it's like when it is busy. We all ordered a soft drink and water each, server failed to bring us our water. We had to ask someone else for it. When our chips were gone, we waited a long time until we saw a server at a nearby table and asked for more chips. We were out of salsa too, but when the girl brought the chips she didn't bother to see or ask if we needed more salsa, I had to go by the kitchen to ask for more. I would've asked her for the salsa too, but she was rushing. Ordered chicken nuggets and fries for my son, had to go by the kitchen again and grab the ketchup myself as well as hotsauce, no one bothered to ask if we needed condiments. Our server checked on us ONCE, but by the time she did, I had already gotten everything we needed so we told her we were fine. At the end of the meal she brought us someone else's receipt, which was already paid for, we had to tell her we haven't paid yet and that she had the wrong table. I could understand the mix up and the not checking in on us if it was a busy night, but again, it WAS NOT BUSY! Plus I seen a total of 5 servers that night. I also had to ask her for a refill on my drink because she didn't bother to ask if anyone needed one, and so she brought me my refill and the correct check, but wish I would've had my refill sooner, not right before I was about to leave. The service sucked, but my...

Went the the first week they opened was not that good BUT I went yesterday to give them a second try. I didnt have high expectations so I ordered the breaded shrimp and was expecting the same tasteless dish as the other Mexican restaurants but I was surprised when I took my first bite they where amazing they weren't the frozen already breaded shrimp like all the other restaurants have. These were seasoned and cooked just right. They served them with rice, beans and tortillas are good too and did not have to wait that long But now I have to go back and try the camarones a la diabla because I can't find a place that can make them as good as the previous restaurant that was there. They all make them the same way. They all start off the same kinda sweet at the beginning then they get hot. The place befor los altos was the only one that had heat from the first bit and was not to hot that you couldnt finish them . if they can do them the same or better they will have a...

Surprisingly, this was our first time eating here. It's been around for almost 10 years and survived covid, so that is saying much. The food was excellent and plentiful. The Chimichanga I ordered was huge; my wife and I should have split it. Rather than have the rice and beans on the side, they were in it. This made for a very pleasant presentation of lots of flavors in every bite. No flavor was overwhelming, and nothing was too hot. The Chimichanga seemed like it was cooked in an airfrier rather than deep fat fried. I missed the oil flavor but still enjoyed the crunchy new texture. I asked the server if it was airfried, and she said she didn't know. Wife's street taco was delicious and plentiful.

Great tacos, clean restaurant. When you enter, you'll have walk over to the counter where you'll either be seated or order takeout. I got two regular tacos to go. It came with a bag of tortilla chips, a container of salsa, and the tacos came with lime wedges and some sauce. The total was $7.56. I had to wait about ten minutes for my order and the service was fine. The shredded beef wasn't tough at all, and the sauce enhanced the beef flavor. The diced raw onion and cilantro added some acidity and freshness. I feel like I got my money's worth here. I recommend stopping by if you'll be waiting a while at the Amtrak station across from this place.
