The beer is great, but the place seems to have gone downhill when it comes to events and hours within the year. Last few times I've been there they stopped doing a lot of activities which made it worth visiting. Prices aren't reasonable without them honestly. If I'd like a drink and to shoot pool it's easier on the budget to go elsewhere that has more of a scene/people. I've had their food a few times, which is good, but the last major event worth going to (which according to insta was around May of last year) they weren't even serving which would've been nice with the show and beer rather than going elsewhere before everyone else left to avoid the rush/traffic. They've changed servers a few times. When I asked previous employees about events they continuously told me one thing to find out later that it wasn't happening and there would be a different server so I couldn't really inquire with at least one or two people consistently. Don't get me wrong, they've all been nice and welcoming! However, it was a hassle and a big run around to try to coordinate with something that was clearly uncoordinated which made it clear there's conflict with staff and the owners when it comes to updates/events. One visiting musician made it clear it wasn't worth going so it could very well be trouble coordinating with talent that may not agree to what they offer as reasonable compensation to perform. The lack of a crowd doesn't help, but that's why it's imperative they improve these problems listed. They also did renovations, which I still have yet to see due to, again, problems listed here. The place is beautiful, it's big, and honestly because of that alone it needs to have events as there aren't any other places like this around Sulphur Springs. Dogs are also welcome, so that's a + Enjoyed some fireworks last year, too, and it was a good place to view them with a good drink in hand with the pupper dog ❤️ Their website also never seemed to be updated, and last I looked it wasn't there anymore so that's not a good sign. It may help to coordinate events where they don't clash with other bars like karaoke on the same night. Other places seem to have really established consistency with their niche, so unless it's a really worthwhile event then poaching customers isn't an option. They re-establish a reliable source of events to attend, especially with their online platforms like Insta, I'll definitely be coming back to enjoy their stock of homebrewed awesomeness, as well as the food so long as they're open, but until then I don't have much other reason to come back. Especially if they're simply going to close sooner than any other bar around town. If it wasn't for previous past experiences that were good it would be a 1 star. Although, if they don't pick up soon with those updates it may evidently drop...
Read moreMy wife and I went there for supper on July 13 ,2024. Off the start, the waitress was good throughout the entire visit. I can only judge the food I ordered. I ordered the lemon pepper pork chop, and my wife ordered the Bavetta and shared the mac and beer cheese and seasoned vegetable with a flight of sauces, roasted garlic, whiskey something, and hot honey. The side portions are a seperate charge and are ment to be shared. No entre includes a side. We both agree that 90 percent of the food was bland! You only get one free slice of bread, after that you have to pay. It comes with this oil and I believe balsamic vinegarette mixture, which doesn't mix so when you dip your bread, you get the horrible taste of oil. When our order came, it looked good, but this place doesn't believe in seasoning what so ever. The best tasting thing was the hot honey dip. The bavetta was bland. My pork chop was ok. The seasoned green beans was actually good. Mac n cheese was epically bland, looked so delicious, but could've gotten more flavor out of cardboard. That was the biggest disappointment that it made my childhood cry! The portions were very well sized I will say. Even the sauces were bland! The roasted garlic butter had no flavor, the whisky sauce had to be tomatoe paste and taco seasoning, but the hot honey was actually good. I highly suggest that one. I gave only 2 stars due to the only good things was waitress service and a nice place. This place is very pricey and not worth it. 100 dollars for just my wife and I, and that's without any fancy drinks or anything, just 2 sweet teas and food. Paid a lot of money for bland food. With some seasoning/ better tasting food and price adjustment, this would be a very nice place. Also!! The chairs! They're all the same, and they're those metal chairs where the bar that connects to the seat and over the back plate. They're the most uncomfortable chairs. The bar mentioned digs into your hip bones unless you're small and petite or you sit your bottom forward and slouch. It's a horrible designed chair and no bench seat/ booth tables. This place has high potential, just needs a few changes. I hope this...
Read moreThis is the Gem of Sulphur Springs, for us Beer lovers of course. First, typical brewery with great beer. But they one up it with a Wine and hard Seltzer selection, for the ladies in our lives that ma not be as keen on beer. Second, Live entertainment. Obviously depends on the night but live entertainment is always a plus and the gentleman playing the guitar tonight was great. Third, Charles. The proprietor was a great guy and worth a visit on his own. I love great bartenders and owners who love what they do, this is Charles. Finally, I was "That Guy" so I can say to all the others, just because they don't sell the mass market piss water, Breweries and craft beer is NOT a millennial thing. We Gen Xers started it and because we were being punk rock, going against the machine of BL, Miller, etc. If you want a good beer at a good price, try this place. It is a stand out in Sulpher Springs, which is an awesome place on it's own. And yes, I live here and run a Farm. Yes, a well traveled farmer boy can appreciate a good beer that does not make big corporate types richer and instead supports the local community. You need this place. Oh, before I forget, they will have food very...
