We took the Dad's here yesterday for Father's Day. They weren't that busy as they usually are. We arrived at 12:20 We were met with a smile and seated pretty quickly. When we sat down the waiter gave our party 1 menu and he said that was all they had was that OK? That should have been the first sign. The table had not been wiped off and they were bringing chips & salsa. I asked could someone wipe off the table...the waiter was reluctant to do that. I asked him for the rag and I just cleaned it myself. We waited almost 20 minutes for the waiter to come and take our drink order. He was about to leave and I told him we were ready to order. My son asked if they served virgin drinks and the waiter said absolutely not! But they do serve a virgin pina colada...which is what my granddaughter wanted. We never got silverware or napkins and we asked several times. We waited around another 20 minutes and we finally got our food. But, here we are a party of 5 and hot food but no silverware. The waiter leaves to go get silverware and is gone for 5 minutes or so and comes back with, (I kid you not), 2 sets os silverware and 3 packs of plastic ware!!! My son got a chicken dish and was having to use a spoon to cut the chicken because there were no knives.Eating with plastic fork at a nice restaurant is weird... I got the #5 lunch 1 cheese enchilada 1 chicken enchilada rice and beans. My cheese enchilada was scorched on the bottom and was crunchy. Tried another bite same thing. So I decided I wouldn't eat it and go for the chicken enchilada. I cut into the chicken enchilada and there was just chicken no tortilla!!! I thought someone was punking me. I brushed the sour cream off the top and seriously it was just the filling with no enchilada. The chicken was well flavored...crazy no enchilada! The chili con carne was not good. It had sooo much chili powder that you could only taste the powder. Either it had not had time to simmer or someone was heavy handed. We waited over 30 minutes to get our check. We left at 2,:45.
It was just a terrible, awful experience. The salsa was good but you didn't get much of it and they were slow on bringing...
Read moreGood food, decent service, but beware of the final bill! What should have been a $42 bill, we were instead given a $105 bill, without any detail. I did not leave with the impression that this was an accident. The fact that they did not give us the detail receipt but just tried to pass along a bill for more than double what the price should have been left me suspicious whether that was an accident. The food was good, the margaritas were excellent. Just be aware and double check your bill. I left feeling that the wait staff was trying to slip one past us. They were not very apologetic about the mistake when we pointed it out to them. Don't use a debit card, watch your credit card charges, and definitely double check your receipt. It may have been an honest mistake so, I'll probably go back and give them another chance however, I am a little less trusting of this establishment. Just be aware. I realize this can...
Read moreWe were greeted very pleasantly as we came in. A young lady came with chips & salsa. James our waiter was very nice and friendly, took drink order and gave us time to decide. When he returned with our drinks he answered a few questions we had and then took our order. He brought guacamole and it was so tasty that we ordered another. Our food came out hot. My mom was with us and she very seldom eats more than 4 or 5 bites, but tonight she ate all of the Saturday special Burrito. She especially was thrilled that it was made with beef, not ground beef. And said the sour cream sauce was great. My husband & I shared your dinner that comes out on a hibichi. This was wonderful 3 or 4 different meats all cooked to profectsion, very tender & juicy. Don Lalo's will be on our list of places to eat when we travel through Sulphur Springs again. Good friendly service with wonderful food. Thumbs up!...
