A Timeless Retreat: Frankie's Uptown – A Neighborhood Bar
In a city known for its grandeur and constant motion, Frankie's Uptown stands as a charming paradox—a sanctuary of warmth and camaraderie amidst the bustling chaos. As you step over the threshold, you’re welcomed not just by the physical space but by an enveloping atmosphere that is uniquely charming. It's like slipping into a well-worn leather armchair: familiar, comforting, and infinitely inviting. This establishment transcends the typical bar experience; it embodies a heartfelt journey where old-school charm intricately weaves with the refined elegance of contemporary design, creating a space that resists easy classification.
The ambiance is infused with a palpable energy, an unspoken promise of respite from the demands of everyday life. It's a haven where the burdens of the day fade away, overtaken by the joyful laughter of friends, the cheerful clink of glasses, and the enchanting strains of live music that seem to float through the air like a beloved tune. Every corner of Frankie's Uptown is alive with activity, from the spirited bar games that incite friendly competition to the carefully curated décor that pays homage to the nostalgia of neighborhood gathering spots. The walls, adorned with vintage photographs and eclectic memorabilia, tell stories of countless memories shared, enhancing the inviting feel of the space.
Amidst this tapestry of communal joy lies a culinary treasure that captivated my taste buds: the Hometown Chicken Parm Sub. This dish is a true work of culinary artistry and indulgence. It begins with a Romano-crusted chicken breast, perfectly fried to achieve a golden exterior that gives way to tender, succulent meat. Generously slathered in a rich marinara sauce that boasts a subtle blend of herbs and spices, the chicken is then crowned with melted mozzarella cheese, creating a gooey, comforting layer that is as delightful to the eye as it is to the palate. Encasing this harmony of flavors is a garlic bread sub roll, crisp on the outside yet soft and warm within—an inspired touch that elevates each bite to extraordinary heights of flavor and texture. The exceptional food at Frankie's Uptown is a true delight for any food enthusiast.
Frankie's Uptown is much more than just a bar; it stands as a living testament to the enduring power of neighborhood connection. Here, food, music, and laughter converge in an eternal embrace of good times, fostering a sense of community that is truly special. The experience at Frankie's is truly holistic, urging visitors to savor the little moments that turn ordinary evenings into extraordinary experiences. In a world that often feels transient, this spot remains a steadfast retreat—a place where five stars hardly seem sufficient to capture the essence of such a quintessential...
Read moreTerribly rude owners, very unfair, and very disrespectful to local musicians. I have dealt with Chris Lee and her husband Franke for several months only played there one time in April 2025 with a great turnout everybody loved our show made great tips prior to them rebooking me again with one of my other musicians. She booked me again on September 6, 2025 and she canceled at the last minute in August when she booked me in May 2025 for September 6th telling me that there has been a change in the schedule.not true.. After five months of promoting the show, this has caused me financial harm And for an unlawful reason that is not truth. The musician I had in my show lineup could not make the gig on September 6 so I got a replacement for him, but she canceled my show anyway. You don’t do that. This is completely unlawful And egregious.i passed up other venues where I could have played September 6th so now at a loss because of these owners…I am a seasoned singer and have toured all over the world with legendary musicians for many years !! Not one musician deserves this kind of disrespect! Although they don’t have written contracts, a verbal contract is still valid. And Under the claim of promissory estoppel and reliance damages that is absent of a formal contract.Text messages and promoting the shows for several months counts as evidence. As I now have to take them to small claims to get paid for what I would’ve gotten paid on September 6, 2025 plus damages. The musicians that I work with work under me as I get all the bookings. My musicians never get the bookings I do. I got the booking with Chris Lee and her husband for both gigs that I’ve done at her venue not my Musicians. This is completely unfair and disrespectful and I will not let them get away with this behavior. I am also a former federal litigator of many years and I will never tolerate disrespect. I will never...
Read moreWow, first time dining at Frankie's Uptown - wonderful experience! Staff is attentive and the food was amazing. Our group tried the strolls, philly sandwich, and fish. Very impressed and will return!
UPDATE 11/11/2021: We returned for dinner this evening and dined outside. Beautiful night and the food was excellent. Unfortunately that is where it ends. . .our server was disappointing. Our group ordered drinks and four out of six drinks were delivered to the table. Ten minutes later the other two in our group received their drinks. We had to beg the server to get our bill - asked at the beginning of the service for three separate bills (three couples). When he brought the bills, they were all wrong. He didn't return to the table so we had to find him to advise of the error. He said sorry and would get them corrected. He finally returned to the table and they were still incorrect. We stood by the door waiting for him to correct them one more time and again they were wrong. Ugh!!! He asked we follow him inside so they could be corrected. I asked to speak to the manager and explained our disappointment with the service tonight, especially with trying to pay our bill (now going on 45 minutes). He said sorry we are very busy and your server has only been here three weeks. OK, sorry, not my problem. Why wasn't someone helping him? You accepted our request for a table and need to deliver on food and service. Manager made no good will gesture for our time and frustration. We were walking to our cars discussing our frustration and two young girls asked if we had service issues too. They were frustrated and it was their first time at Frankie's Uptown. They were overcharged for drinks. I don't think they will be back. I want to give Frankie's another chance but not sure when that...
