Rivers Edge Cafe & Brews — Restaurant in Sumner

I saw this place on TikTok last night and was like “wow! A drive-up window for sandwiches!” So I went today and immediately saw a long line at the drive-up so I decided to go in and order. Yes it’s lunchtime on a Friday so I expected it to be busy.

I stood in line for a bit and then decided to order online while I was standing in line. I ordered a sandwich meal, which includes a sandwich, bag of chips, and a can of Diet Coke. I kinda forgot about the Diet Coke so on top of that I ordered a blended coffee drink.

I waited literally an hour (ordered at 12:26, sat there until 1:25) and my name hadn’t been called yet and I have an hour for lunch so I had to get back. I told the woman at the counter (very nice woman, by the way) that I was going to have to ask for my money back because I had to get back to work. She went to the back and came out with a bag with my food in it—it was ready but the blended drink wasn’t so she asked if it would be okay to refund my money for just the blended drink. Totally fine! I had my Diet Coke anyway. But there was still a line of people she was helping so I ended up walking out without getting my money back.

Again—I get it, it’s a busy Friday and the sun is out, but I truly can’t wait an hour for a to-go order. I may try again and see what happens because the sandwich was bomb.

UPDATE: They refunded my money for the blended drink; was easy since I ordered online. Will try this place again on a (hopefully)...

I recently ordered my breakfast from Rivers edge with delivery. I clearly noted on the instructions that I needed the gravy placed on the side for dietary reasons. When I receive my order, it was completely coded in gravy, which meant now I cannot eat it. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with some gal who did not give me her name, and I let her know that the instructions had not been followed. Her only response was “sorry they must’ve missed that”. I replied it was difficult not to miss since I did put it in my instructions and I can clearly see. It’s also written on my receipt. She then exclaimed, “don’t you talk to me like that” and then hung up on me This will be the first and last time that I give any business to Rivers edge! Not only was the person who answered the phone, rude, and unapologetic really about the mistake and did not offer any solutions but now she will not pick up the phone. I had a disappointing experience at this establishment. The employees were unprofessional, talking about customers behind their backs without regard for who might be listening. I overheard them mocking other customers for simple actions, like checking their bags to ensure they received everything they ordered. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect and professionalism. I would not recommend this place based on the staff's attitude and conduct.

Additionally, the napkins and lid I received smelled strongly of cleaner, like they had wiped down something with Lysol but then handled other things without changing gloves. The smell was so overpowering that I had to dump my coffee into a different cup because I could taste the smell. This was unpleasant and concerning. I ended up dumping out my drink after taking a couple drinks because it made me feel uneasy.
