UPDATE: After not eating at Logan's in Sumter for 14 months due to a string of bad experiences, we decided to get some curbside service a couple weeks ago and everything went well-- great curbside service, excellent food (three steak meals), and a reasonable price. We ordered there again today and the outcome was not as good, unfortunately. After we got home, we found that two of the three side salads we ordered were not in the carry out bag. I called back and spoke with the manager on duty, who was professional and courteous. I explained the problem and asked if they could credit my bill for the non-receipt of the salads, as I was not going to drive back there just for the side salads. He explained that his manager and district manager do not authorize him to credit bills or anything similar. The only thing he could do was offer for me to stop by at some time in the future and get two free side salads. That's not a good answer. How about something like taking down my home address or email address and sending a voucher for $5 (or even $2 or $3) that could be used in the future or maybe a certificate for a free dessert. It was obvious that he was not empowered by his superiors to make things right. I thanked him, hung up and then proceeded to eat one of the worst steak meals I had had in quite awhile. My steak was very tough and full of gristle. Close to half of it was inedible. My wife's was not much better. The baked potatoes were not fresh. You could tell they had been done for a long time and had been reheated. Saying goodbye to Logan's again. There are other places in Sumter to get steak My Previous Two-Star Review from Feb 2019: We have eaten at the Logan's in Sumter several hundred times since 2007 and have enjoyed many great meals with family there. Recently, however, the quality of service has declined markedly. Tonight, it once again seemed that the wait staff did not seem to know we were seated at our table for a good ten minutes. The meal took a very long time to arrive. Diners at nearby tables--who arrived well after we did, received their meals and were most of the way done by time we received ours. Our waiter came and acknowledged the problem and mentioned that the manager had said something to the kitchen. Took forever to get our check as well. Our visit there three weeks ago made tonight look good, in comparison. It was horrendously bad. Very poor waitresses service with very long waits at every stage of the experience--drink order, serving drinks, taking meal order, delivering the meal, checking on us, bringing the check. Her demeanor bordered on hostile. The manager never visited our table or spoke to us either time. Lastly, the men's room does not seem to be cleaned nearly enough. It was a mess, including a floor that looked like it had not been properly mopped in quite some time. Although Logan's has been our favorite restaurant since we moved to Sumter in 2007, we will be very hesitant to return, despite consistently tasty food. ...
Read moreFor context, I’ve already been told by multiple of my peers to avoid this place. But, I was invited here to have dinner with a few friends so I came in. For starts, the rolls came out, and when my friend asked for cinnamon butter, they said they were out, but they would bring us out a cup of cinnamon? They actually proceeded to bring out a whole to-go cup of cinnamon. Why they couldn’t have just mixed some into the butter beforehand is confusing. We also asked for more rolls, which never came. I ordered “The Logan” an 11oz sirloin with a side Caesar salad and green beans. And let me just say, the plain green beans were the best part of my meal. This “11oz” they gave me was small. I’ve had 8oz steaks at other restaurants that looked bigger than this. When I brought this up to my waitress, she pretty much said “well I rang you up for an 11oz, so that’s what you got.” And my Caesar salad was bland, and not good at all. The croutons were stale, the dressing was completely watered down and flavorless. The big chunks of Parmesan that they put on top was the only thing with any taste to it. So I didn’t even finish that. And the worst part is that I paid $30 for my own meal, for something so disappointing. This has to be the worst “steakhouse” I’ve been to. Seriously, I’ll continue to make the 40 minute drive to Texas Roadhouse in Florence until they decide to...
Read moreThis was my first time in this establishment as I am new to the area. Take into consideration it is Friday night, prime time. We were seated quickly, we received our initial service quickly, and that is where it ended. It took an hour and a half (1.5) to receive our food, and the table was not served all of the food together. When we asked the server if we would be discounted for the extremely long wait his response was, "No, we have several large parties that is backing up the kitchen, your ticket is next to go in". The problem for me was that patrons in other sections that were seated after us was receiving their meals. I ask to see the manager, who by the way bought out the last dish. She expressed her apologies for the situation. I expressed my unacceptable, dissatisfaction with the service and asked if there would be compensation. The manager discounted one ticket, there was three of us on separate tickets. When I saw this I asked for the manager again. While she kept her composure her body language showed her frustration with me. Since she gave my friend such a healthy discount the manager felt that should satisfy the table. My friend's discount had nothing to do with my complaint. She ultimately took $3 off of a $30 ticket. For a first impression this establishment left a very sour taste. Not sure if I will go...
