Firehouse Subs Sumter — Restaurant in South Carolina

Smells yummy when you walk in. Friendly staff. Menu is easy to read with large print. Stocked options. Restaurant is clean. Location seems simple enough, I wasn’t in town long enough to get to know the area. Overall good first time visit to any firehouse subs. Sandwich came well packed in its own disposable dish, that’s a nice feature I wasn’t expecting.

Edit: I’m not a fan of the honey ham. I found the ham too sweet and downgraded the overall sandwich experience. I also looked over the receipt and see I was charged $1.50 for a pickle spear, now I will say the pickle spear was unexpectedly more flavorful. The zest of garlic and pickling spices added a nice touch to the meal, but shame on the restaurant for charging $1.50 for a spear and not even letting the customer know there was an extra charge.

Abysmal. $65 for 4 sandwiches & a salad.

Food - Dry meat (how do you do that?), stale bread, old soggy veggies, ancient brown lettuce (dangerous if eaten), messy assembly of sandwich. It's like they tried as hard as they could to mess it up.

Drinks - Nasty sticky soda selection screen, equally nasty syrup covered carpet and floor. At least there was ice in the soda machine this time, bravo 👏 🙄

Bathroom - completely destroyed, my wife couldn't even use it.

To the Owner - WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? Your store has been this bad for a while now, at least a year. Thought we'd give it another try and here we are. You won't be getting my $$ anymore. (Family of five).

Ordered through the app, was told it wouldn’t be ready until 8:50 when it was ordered around 6:00. We called after the app gave a new option for pick up times at 7:30 and they said it was ready. I’m assuming someone turned off the online order option and they made our subs when we ordered it because they were soggy when we asked for the extra toasted option. We also ordered two brownies and a Mac and cheese which wasn’t in the bag. We called about it and they said they would have to wait to do a refund for the amount since their GM wasn’t in.
