My wife and I went for breakfast and the food portions were excellent and my hashbrowns were properly cooked and delicious. As you can see from the photos the eggs were underdone for over easy but passable. The toast was just bread with some butter on it, this was the 2nd time in a row and is frankly unacceptable for me I will not recommend this place based on my food experience, if you cannot take the time to make proper toast, what other details are you missing? Well it gets worse.
My wife ordered the pasta as other reviewers had recommended it. It was dreadful and inedible. It tasted like a bad frozen dinner and after I tasted it I noticed it had been under warming lights for way too long as the pasta was literally disintegrating when you tried to eat it.
So we asked to have it removed from the bill, which is where this goes horribly wrong. The chef/owner refused to remove it or even offer another option or remedy to the situation and if anything escalated the issue by interfering with the waitress who was trying to do anything to deescalate the whole incident. I felt like Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible trying to explain that his food sucks but he thinks its 5 star and all he does is throw up his arms walks away and insulted my wife as "she must be the problem since everyone loves my pasta"
Wow what an incredible disconnect from reality. Please mark us down for 2 complaints then!!
Needless to say I have to give this a 1 star review because 0 is not an option.
My wife I and will never return under any circumstances.
I commend the one staff member who tried but failed to calm the issue down, but alas I assume out of fear of the wrath of the chef/owner did...
Read moreTook my mother and our family out for lunch on Mothers Day, and we all ordered and waited patiently. First my son‘s meal was cooked and incorrectly had to send it back gave us a new one because they added peppers n onions when he clearly stated he wanted it w/o, then my wife’s meal was made incorrectly and the waitress came back saying the chef said he never put those ingredients in there, and then they brought it back again telling us again the same thing so we ordered a new meal. Low and behold we get the receipt and they had the audacity to charge us for the meal that was made incorrectly with onions or cross contaminated which ever one it is it doesn’t matter. So the arrogant cook and the arrogant waitstaff decided to charge us for the incorrect meal, but they didn’t label exactly what the charge was so we had ask them to explain the unlabeled charge. We spent $60 in their establishment, but will never get another dime from us. We will never eat at this café again. I used to come religiously with the owners before the new owners that have it now. Never once had a problem with my meal and customer service was on point. One of the worst customer service experiences rendered. Lastly they had the nerve to take the food back question are complaints and then charge us for the food without giving it back. If you have to nickel and dime people on meals when cross-contamination happens, and condiments for that matter your business is doomed to fail. Your hours are limited and obviously your customer service isn’t worth the dirt on the...
Read moreMy family and I have been here a few times. Each time the food has been going downhill. It's been a while since we've been here. I was just thinking about going this morning until I read the comments. Reading some of the comments from the customers and owner, I'm undoubtedly never coming back. Owners should never discredit, humiliate, offend or rob a customer, this owner did all of these disgusting things to people. We are how you make your living! Without customers, you don't have a business. You lied when you said, "line out of the doors". I've lived in Sun Prairie for six years, up until last year I thought the country cafe was abandoned, and never have I seen "a line out of the door", at most 4 cars in the parking lot total.
Reading your comments makes me sick to my stomach. Your checking cameras to see if people actually came into your restaurant to confirm their comments? If you are embarrassed just apologize, mean it, and move on. Things happen and people understand when it's out of your control. Telling them off is not humane or professional. You are wasting time and energy and losing customers in the process. It's a business not personal. People should not be subjected to verbal abuse when things don't go YOUR way. Extraordinary customer service will make your restaurant thrive. You may try to offer me a position to work for you like you did someone else in the comments, but you wouldn't be able to afford me! Thanks...
